Right, I need to reply due to amount of single minded sniggering trolls posting. Lets be fair, Android is a great operating system, highly customizable and functional. IOS similar, a cracking OS if a little expensive (granted well designed) hardware. Both these are operating systems, they live and die by their apps which range from poor to innovative. Android is a little clunky and fragmented and any app integration requires large resources and high powered hardware and yes, it's improving update by update. Apple, to a degree, have become more interested in restricting development by patenting obvious technological advances, advances that they themselves have enjoyed using technologies developed by others. Good design?...yes, good marketing?...certainly, innovation?....not so much lately, shame. Windows however IS innovative, like it or not, it's not just an OS it's an integrated echo system. I use all 3, Windows is the most intuative by a mile. If you don't use it fair do's but you're missing a software revolution for mobile. We use it as we've seen the potential, the innovation, the future. Those of you who mock, go snigger in ignorance back to your apple/android forums, we're happy with our W8 and won't be coming back. :)

stop crying about android here....those tiles r live and WP fans love OS for tht...apart frm live tiles the OS is simple n fluid in use...not as boring as ur widgets...

that other folder is your "system reserve"... in my samsung omnia, zune lets me choose how much reserve will i have on my phone. default is 10% of your memory. thats like a cache for apps, contact photo, text messages, album and artist image, Maps, basically every single thing you load up in your phone. the more you load on your phone the more it will eat up. because wp8 dont need zune anymore you cant set a certain value.
in android you have miscellaneous folder... (my Gnote have 1.2gb)
in ios you have your other files when you plug it in your pc with itunes... (wife ip5 have 809 mb)
wp8 have other folder.. (my lumia 920 have 2.56gb)

Those Windows Phone 8 launchers on Android are terrible. They don't even do live tiles. If you think WP8 is just a launcher, you're so wrong. WP8 looks and feels better than iOS and Anroid. Most of the time I can do stuff faster on WP8 than my iPhone 4S and Android phones because many apps are already integrated into WP8. The "Pin" feature in WP8 can create a deep shortcut way into the app. Like I want to check movie show times or listing for a specific local theater, all it takes is one touch to run the tile and it will go to that app and goes straight into that theater. Samething for a movie title, a restaurant, map location, and just about everything.

This question came out plenty of times and msft are aware that people are confused, so they will probably fix it. Things like that are easy to fix, when there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the OS. Sad for you, but dont worry. You'll find something else to troll about, to take your attention away from the issues Android has.
Btw did you criticize HTC Desire and other devices that lacked internal storage for apps (without being rooted) or M$FT deserves your special attention?
