Oppo A55s 5G unveiled - a cheaper A55 5G version

18 April 2022
30% lower price, 2 extra gigs of RAM, same everything else. By the way, this isn't the A55s 5G with Snapdragon 480, that's a different phone.

There is probably a naming mistake considering the soc. The Dimensity 700 does definately NOT have any A78 processing cores and no g68 mc4 graphics as well. It rather has 2xA76 cores @ 2.2 GHz, and g57 mc2 graphics. The precise soc's model thus remains unclear.

I suppose a proliferation of models ultimately means a price point for every one. Apple has a very simplistic naming system. Current updated range is iPhone se 2022, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 pro max. Simple naming scheme. Unfortunately, nothing under 4 or 500 euros really. I'll take way more model names at lower prices overall.

                Tech enthusiasts/geeks see many models

The average consumer sees : this one cost 200 dollars and that one costs 175 dollars.. I'll take the 175 dollars one please

Chinese oem's have that naming scheme problem. With so many handsets being released, even they are confused by the naming. That's also why they have a problem with providing updates, there's too many products being released.

the naming is way too confusing, like which is the a55 5g with sd 480 and the dimensity 700 ones. i hate how oddo did this
