            Wow!
Finally a sharp looking smartphone from Samsung!
And it's even IP67 certified with all the bells and whistles included!
It's few grades above the previous Xcover 1 model.
If the real retail price is right it will be a blast!
            Good job Samsung!

Glad to learn that in today's cheap throwaway market there are some devices which are built to last. This thing should last 10 years. Even if the OS is way out of date it should still work for telephony and surviving harsh environments.

                  What about the glass?
There is no mention about it. If it is not a strong, shock proof, why to protect the whole phone? My wife dropped her S3 on the floor, after one week of use and had to pay around 150 USD to change the broken front part
I am waiting for it since summer as i work in wet and muddy environment. I want it, however i wish a keyboard phone better, as is impossible to use the phone with wet hands. I had to change my Motorola defy driving me mad any time when not responding, with a stupid HTC ChaCha, but with a brilliant keyboard and menu

Top design not bad hardware and new software I like rugged phones and this is best for my expectation compare price! Sonim is very good but too expensive!
For work outside, biking, and so on it is good enough!

Why is Samsung using the same software interface for S3,S3mini and few other models, cant they tweak the software and make a redesign for new models they introduce, that makes them just plain disturbing.

You are missing the point. They are not protecting the "low specs" of this phone. They made a rugged phone with mid range specs. A friend of mine uses his xcover at work(autoshop), since he's a mechanic he needed a phone that could take abuse(greasy hands, lots of dirt). This is pretty much a work phone, giving it better specs than its predecessor makes it a bit of a play phone too(best of both worlds).

AnonD-10110, 25 Jan 2013Dude this is the norm for all industries ..if its strong it... more:) I don't play games on my laptop not to mention phone, waste of time for me, but still, how long do you use that phone "in the wild"?, you sound like a man who's not interested much on what's happening in the smartphone world and yet you reply on a site about this...don't tell me you would mind a better camera on that and so on. And what you understand by quality of lifestyle may not suite everybody, for me is from an engine with a wheel in front and one in the back:)...sorry "dude" I'm not convinced

                                        is it removable battery?
Because there is special lock that secured battery.
