fastanddubious, 25 May 2022Seriously what's the point of this phone 😏😏Xiaomi's __S and __T phones are basically just minor upgrades to their pre-existing phones, for example the Mi 11 getting replaced with the 11T with a different design and new camera sensors. Kind of similar to what OnePlus did/is doing.
The 12 will be replaced with the 12S with a similar design but a better chip inside and Leica camera branding (although the cameras are likely to be the same, including the 5MP telemacro - better cameras will likely come with the 13 series).

It's pathetic that this adding fake camera just to make a triple cam setup is still ongoing in 2022.

After all these advancements and improvements in mobile photography, what kind of potato did they use to take that picture? I don't think the blurred details behind the leica branding was intentional.

Looks promising but to be honest i dont believe or i stop believe like with One plus and hasselblad branding.
I expected a lot more.

Let's Go Xiaomi.. Slap those Leica branding on every models and increase the price by 10% ... Now 2mpx or 5mpx macro lens on smartphones will also have Leica branding.

Leica is nothing but a name. I had few phones with Leica camera, and they were all pretty average. So this is just a marketing trick for people to get hyped just because of name.
Leica is doing some camera tweaking and that's it. and that will increase price of the phone for 200$ lol

Still, if it is the same setup as Mi 12 Pro or Mi 12 with that bad macro and short tele, then it is a disappointment. Only Huawei delivers good hardware with Leica. If they want to go Oneplus way, then it is bad as hasselblad doesn't make any difference to oneplus camera.
Hope Mi 12 Ultra will be the one with Leica

To be honest, considering that though both the vanilla models and Pro models of Huawei flagships have sported Leica branding thus far, there's still a huge gap between the quality of the pictures produced by both, I don't expect much from Leica branding's coming to standard model.
