"The new law is part of the EU’s goal to make electronic products sold within member states more sustainable and to reduce e-waste while helping consumers carry one single charger for all their devices."

And what if I want to charge my phone and tablet at the same time? I won't wait for my phone charge up so that I can charge my tablet.

edit: For all I know there's already an exception for devices that draw more power, but really this is a non-problem.

For Xiaomi and Oppo it's actually good for some reasons, as I wish you good luck finding their 67W or 120W chargers for sale easily. In terms of USB-C coming out in 2014, it takes time to get laws such as this on the table. This has probably been in the works for like 5+ years-

Now every companies moving to wireless charging, least they can frame a uniform technology standard for wireless charging.

I find this dumb because type-c headphones are often not compatible with other brands, they need to make 3.5mm mandatory to!

couldnt come soon enough, about time apple got rid of that archaic lightning for its phones, i hate having multiple cables for various tech when all should simply adopt a single standard, almost every phone, most tablets and anything worthy of being techy is already on usb-c, quite frankly ditch the cables for phones as well after 2024, no need to have them, companies should make them a free optional extra if purchased online, some people would take them up but most already have plenty of cabling laying around, I pretty much charge my entire kit by dairy chaining to my 100w laptop plug

                                        Lmao. Are you serious?

How technologically illiterate are you to think it is viable to use a single serial protocol for all communication and power transfer? Reality does not work that way.

USB-A is also the better port, far more durable, due to being designed for larger devices. And that is already standard on most devices for many things.
