All these lawsuits are really uneccesary, there is no point for them. Mobile phone manufacturers really have no profit or interest in copying other companies patents or technology. Today, all that technology is practically the same, all that inner microchips are produced by STK, TI, Intel, Qualcomm or Samsung.
So what now, Samsung will have to sue all smartphone brands including Apple for using their RAM and Flash memory chips? Very same that chips are also using PC RAM and VRAM (graphic card) manufacturers. Well, Samsung is the one that doesn't sue people because they are successful. That is an additional commercial for Samsung, not a negative thing. Apple is the one that sue others when it becomes endangered on the market. Apple, do not sue other companies, make a "hot product", push it on a market and regain trust of your users. I am not a fan of Apple, but I'm sure that they can do bussiness without any lawsuit, because they really produce high quality products.

Still, there are many advantages and disadvantages on both platforms.
In the other hand, Android, Google, Motorola and Qualcomm are the same thing, manufactures owned by Google, the won't die a long time too. Motorola use to be the most reliable manufacturer, their Android flagship dissapointed my a little, especcially their low and medium-end device. Samsung is story for itself, every Samsung (Android) device is manufactured to work just fine, without any "big disadvantages"...
It all depends on someone's taste. There's no arguing about tastes.

All good things come to an end (as with ALL things anyway). Once there was mighty Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Ericsson, BlackBerry, etc. Apple won't die. They can become an institution like IBM or Dell, etc. Just fade past their glory days but focus on SOLID company performance. Of course fanboys will refuse to accept it - that's unrealistic, but "fan" comes from "fanatic" so let's just accept the stubbornness.
