I hate how Google enjoys making pointless and confusing updates to existing apps but at least the new Google Wallet seems to be moving in the right direction by integrating everything into one app.
They just need to work on the contactless payment's reliability.

Android fan here, but neithe contactless Gpay nor Samsung Pay available in my country (AND it's in EU). Meanwhile Apple pay thrives.

Gpay is already there for payments and for storing documents there is Digilocker which is officially recognised everywhere. Google wallet is meaningless unless they completely integrate it with Digilocker but that will require a separate app entirely different from Google wallet

Google should focus on app performance. I am from India and we have UPI payment system here and around 4/10 times Google pay fails to make the payment, the app just shows connection to bank server failed while at the same time Samsung pay works flawlessly everytime.
