New Moto G62 launches in India with Snapdragon 695 chipset

11 August 2022
A Moto G62 was already unveiled in June, but that one used the 480+ chip. Chipsets aside, the two models are mostly the same.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2022Does not matter price. Even a $90 should have type C. ... moreThere's a reason, and it is fairly interesting. These brands use private protocols which are not compatible with standard USB3.0 and PD. They may alter pin definitions and embed chips(like e-marker for PD PPS) to provide higher power. So...there may be some compatibility problems, some of them just do not want to solve them(extra costs awaits) and choose 2.0 for less complexity.

There are two instances of phones with 3.1 with private protocol fast charging, the OP8T and Black Shark 5 Pro(120W). Interestingly, they are shipped with dedicated A-to-C cable for fast charging, and those cables out of the box are not capable of transmitting data at USB 3.0 speed! You must find another 3.0-rated USB-C cable to reach the top speed!

                      Even a $90 should have type C.

By the way, C 3.1 is only $5 more than C2.0.
Xiaomi still puts C2.0 on phones sold over €1000.

To piss off Apple and chinese brands, India is considering making usb C mandatory.
