I too am a die hard fan of sony but this is utter disappointing. Even the Xperia P has a better quality than the Z. Sony Please fix this up with ur ZL or in future updates

Sony!Why do u always give ppl a poor camera?You need 2 make phone cameras better than what's available @ the moment.Hope dis iz a minor software glitch!As a die hard Sony fan I'm disappointed in d camera aspect of it because I kno you can do way better!Making fine art without a fine top class camera is rubbish,again I hope iz a software glitch!Sony have great phones with BS cameras coming fr masters in imagery.I will like to c this change n the camera kings get bk there crown.A great camera is always my choice&to read dis ain't much better than 8mp fr years b4 iz jus sad.Please Sony do better than that for your fans sake&give ur haterz more reason to hate.I would love to c the CyberShot brand launch in android,xenon etc!Give us d perfect phone cuz I kno u can.Everyone knows that as well!As a Sony fan I hope reviews& meaningful comments like mind& others get read.I doh bash other brands,jus want to c my brand set the trend& always have the phone to beat!S4 gonna rock,hope iz not a pile a cheap plastic tho.HTC one looking sweet!Sony this iz a ruff market start playing ruff n release da perfect phone.Proper cameras in all ur phones& bring bk the CyberShot brand asap!

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2013GS2 was RGB not Pentile. Did you really own the GS2? No really? I believe him. Sgs2 has low ppi and the giant pixels can easily be mistaken for Pentile for those who have a somewhat moderate knowledge of cellphone tech terms. For sure the xperia U must have been amazingly sharp when he came from Sgs2, higher resolution in a much smaller display.

This news story needs correction. Phone house Germany is now selling Sony Xperia ZL for €549.99, and Xperia Z for €649.99 inclusive of VAT.
Interestingly you can purchase Xperia Z for only €529.99 (including VAT) from EXPANSYS UK. If you live outside Europe and the VAT is not applicable on you, then you can get it for €442 only plus delivery charges.

I bought a Galaxy SII in the end of 2011 with great expectations. I prefered SII over iPhone coz the former was cheaper. And ofcourse all those +ve reviews played a big role for buying SII.
I should say it didn't let me down. But I didn't like one of its biggest selling point - the display. The color looks artificial on it. The pentile matrix was a big let down. The display used to get very hot after browsing the net for sometime. 99% time I use my smartphone for browsing net. And for talking I use a Nokia feature phone.
I find GSMarena always highlight lesser viewing angle of display as a negative point. But I couldn't disagree more. Rather it is great advantage for the user. We always hold phone directly infront of our eyes. Who wants to share their screen in a public place?
Anyhow after six months I dumped SII in favour of Sony Xperia U. despite some limitations I am happy with it. And from my
experience I can tell you that Sony would conquer the mobile world again.
NB: display would play a big part in a smartphone's success. cause we are using more time on looking at the phone than talking.

Common_636, 14 Feb 2013My opinion though is yes Sony is rising, but... in this era... moretrue but it is better to have a hardware features that can give exclusive to company brand rather than software. cause if you buy a phone it is hard to modify the innovative or feature product in the hardware aspect. but in softwares just like samsung smart feature, you can get it as long as the hardware supports it. go to google playstore and download it. And besides hardware features if ever it has perform not good the software can support it and fix it without giving your phone to the service center just like updates, or install software like example sony xperia T camera, if you dont like it get a camera 360 apps or some other program enhancement.
so in this aspect Z is worth to buy cause what lacks of this product is software optimization. Hardware features from exmor r down to processor performance up to product design. its all been packed great satisfaction.
