Any updates regarding AMD 7000 series mobile CPU's?

Am not PC expert but assuming more cores is better in gaming...?
I think 16 cores one is out of my budget, should I go with 12 cores instead...?
Love gaming RDR2 in 1440p 100Hz in Ultra settings.
Any suggestions please...?

ox, 31 Aug 2022Intel 13900K 350w AMD 7950X 170-230w, Intel falling behind You're just another example of a guy spread false new without knowing things properly. For both ryzen 7000 series and Intel 13th gen the PBT and MTP is going to be similar more or less. Which is something less than 250w.
And about 350w for Intel, it's the ultimate consumer barrier if anyone needs that amount of performance. For average consumer the power consumption won't be any significance different than AMD counterparts.

But mine Lenovo Legion laptop costed me 2000.
32GB ram and Ryzen 7 CPU alongside with 1TB SSD and screen capable 4K.

-Doom Eternal need just i5 @3.3 ghz (no mention of generation) and 1050ti gpu, these are just low end requirements. Quick search youtube someone is playing it 2k maxed everyhting with 4790.

To clarify the CPU can of course be a bottleneck on higher frame rates. I "only" game at 60 frames 1080p. My GPU is a 1660TI.

But would like to see that doom eternal how its running, also would like to see how you play Sekiro on that PC, and lastly for example something older like commander conquer from Steam platform. Custom map with maximum enemies.

But if i or we compare current technologies with technologies from 50-100 years ago the difference is huge.
And i dont speak about technology level but a lifetime of the product.
My old TV from Toshiba brand lasted almost 40 years. My old refridgerator from Calex brand lasted almost 30 years.
My first Sony walkman lasted 22 years.
My Commodore 64 was working for gaming since 1985 for 22 years even now it would probably work but dont use him anymore and play new games on new computer.
In past my father shoes for sport and leisure lasted 30 years until they were good for bin.
Nowdays we buy new shoes every 6 months up to 2 years because they cant survive much.
Many else from past had 3, 5, 10 times moe life and lifetime than same things today.

Know some friends which have android phones from 2012-2013 era and still working but they are used only for most basic tasks which are calls and texts so its only logical phone like that can last long.

Dear AMD, I'm still waiting for Ryzen 6000 series based laptops in India. There is currently only one laptop available and that is priced above a lakh rupees. And, here you are launching the 7 series? C'mon, how about getting laptop manufacturers to actually start using your chips...😬

"AMD is promising platform support through 2025+ for AM5"
This means AMD can release products that support AM5 till 2025. So if you buy a AM5 board, you can put in a latest cpu from 2025 and enjoy it for however long it lasts.
So if you were able to use the same CPU + board for 10 years in the past, you might as well now. Given that AM6 would be available only by 2025 with higher costs, it will take some time to be mainstream and thus AM5 products will get released for a while after that.
So in 2026/27 you can buy the latest AM5 CPU and board for cheap and use it till it dies.

I haven't seen a new Ryzen 3 desktop CPU since the Renoir 4100. All Ryzen 3 desktop CPUs after that are only available for OEM.

But they still have 15w range mainstream cpus but as I said OEMs don't use it much like other post 25w cpus.
And about arm where it excels, containing a in-house and in-focus graphics chips. Where even AMD apus aren't aren't in-focus graphics solutions (except consoles), but the trend is gonna change somewhat after they using rdna 2 apu on board. Still the market is different.
