I'm thankful my 7pro is every bit as good now as it was on release day when I bought it. I figure that now with Android 12 it buys me time to see what One+ and Nothing come up with. I'm hoping Nothing will put out more of a flagship in'23.
I looked at the 10pro, a lot of so so reviews on Amazon and there was bend gate. I've NEVER put a phone in my back pocket, so that was nothing to me. I always read the 1 star comments on anything I'm thinking about buying. I'm hoping the 11 will be the phone I want.

I'm still totally happy with my 7pro I got upon release. Now finally with Android 12 will keep it in my hands until I find a new phone that I want, in the coming year. I'll never own an Apple, Sammy or Google phone. That leaves less to choose from for sure. I'm hoping that maybe the 11 will be better than the past few, maybe Nothing will release something more of a flagship,

I have been saying this for years, I prefer the days of having one flagship from all these manufacturers. I don't see the logic in having three or four models of a particular phone series and calling even the lowest in the line a flagship. Right now the real flagships are the phones bearing the Pro, Pro+, Max or Ultra depending on the manufacturing naming scheme. Just make one flagship and price it right. Whoever wants the best should be willing to pay for the best.

I've dropped One Plus as a brand from my life and its never looked better imo~ One Plus is just not appealing anymore as a brand and product ~

Good, tbh. This was never an original naming scheme of OnePlus phones, only the 7 series introduced this distinction.
I just hope that OP starts making the T variant a legitimate side upgrade, rather than a watered down flagship.

Not like we needed the vanilla releases, anyways. The OnePlus 6 and 9 were the last good vanilla phones. OnePlus 7 & 8 sucked.

It's your choice at the end of the day. I certainly have had no issues with the 3 OnePlus phones I have had for the last 5 years. I only change to upgrade to a better phone, not because of any issue. Funny enough, my sister is pro Apple and will only buy iPhones, yet her iPhone 11 has been giving her many issues within months of buying it. None of these issues are something I encountered with my Androids.

It may actually be detrimental to tap the phone in the terminal, as the signal may have way too much power and oversaturate the receiver. It just takes a few tries to understand what is the best strategy for your particular phone (i.e., antenna placement and range). From there after, it's all a matter of understanding what is the placement in the payment terminal. There are some time where you'll need to rotate the phone to get proper placement. Contactless can be odd at times, but there is definitely nothing wrong with OnePlus NFC (quite the contrary, I'm actually very happy with the range I'm getting!).

NFC requires very close proximity as it's not intended to communicate far (mostly safety but also energy wise). It has such short communication distance that it matters what part of phone you tap at the terminal. We already know all that.
Like I said, there is a benefit of a doubt that either that phone is problematic specifically or its implementation in that Android version specifically, but I still can't be 100% sure. Today I had my iPhone XR with me and in 2 separate taps, I paid for same thing other Android phone was just straight up refusing to cooperate. First tap was detected fine, second where you actually pay just refused to work.

The latest phones don't even need to be that near to the terminal to work, you just need to have NFC enabled and an unlocked screen/running app (depends on your security settings). The terminal usually "beeps" quite fast even if from a quite afar distance, sometimes you just need to point it better (due to the distance and where the antennas are in the terminal -- not the phone). Remember those things were made to pretty much physically tap cards in the right spot, not have a phone communicating at a distance -- but still, they do work.
