When is the next smaller-sized XCover gonna hit the market? Does anybody know?
It's now 2 years since 5 was released, so the time is up.

I do have all 3 Active table + Galaxy Tab Active Pro + old XCover phone.
Even while everything except Active 3/Active Pro is slow as hell and 16 Gb of storage is no longer relevant today.
It's interesting if samsung would be able to make hybrid of Active table and Z Fold :)

The A71 should have no problem having DeX support alongside the A72 and the A73 5G. What is also ironic is that the Tab S7 FE 5G with a Snapdragon 750G SoC also has DeX support, but the A42 5G and A52 5G with the same SoC don't. It feels as if Samsung doesn't want to disrupt the Galaxy S sales for general consumers.
I also agree with the Z Flip. Motorola and Huawei also use flagship-tier SoC for their RAZR 2022 and P50 Pocket, yet they have no trouble giving Ready For and EMUI Desktop.

I still don't get how Samsung can give these mid range devices DEX but not the Z Flip series, nor the upper A series phones.

Reasons like this is why I think Samsung is one of the best phone brands out there, there's always a new feature or mode to discover since they release new phones internationally so quickly. Apple is fairly boring with design factor and most software updates, the most relevant interesting thing I've heard lately is the EU forcing them to allow third party app store downloads......

no battery mode would be great in all devices. i don't know why the rugged models get it, it would fit the tab s series and the phone s series best as they are devices that are power hungry (depends on usage scheme) and that are also used as stationary devices, especially the tab s series. rugged models are focused on outdoor usage, who needs no battery mode, when you use your rugged device mainly outdoors?

It is a shame that Samsung only limits removable batteries to enterprise customers. There are bucketloads of general consumers who still truly value such a handy feature. Also, the XCover family fully proves that you still can have IP and MIL-STD ratings while having a removable battery and a headphone jack. Fairphone can do the same albeit without the headphone jack for the current 4, but it's only available in the EU region.

Samsung killed the Active series with the S8
Not to mention the active series was only exclusive to some markets
It was the best series by far

I believe the Xcover is one of the most recent Samsung phones to still have a removable battery. Probably in case something happens to the seals and the battery gets damaged so the phone lasts longer. This is probably the idea of an "Outdoor" phone.

Nice overview. Maybe good to correct this: The Xcover 5 was NOT the first XCover phone to get rid of the physical keys at the front. The Xcover pro already lost them 14 months earlier.

I have the next cover Pro I love it. I love it because it has a user changeable battery. All other phones you have to bring it to a tech and he has to do surgery on your phone to change the battery. And if your phone survives you're lucky. This is a no-brainer you could just buy a battery and change it yourself why is it that more phones don't have this feature.
