Because In the end u still have to stream pc/console games and natively play mobile games

But the mobile games performance will be better on the razer edge compared to $400 smartphones

In this case, Razer is asking more than the price that Valve and Nintendo are asking, but with a sucky game library. It can't compete on the price, it can't compete on the games library... It's just a waste of money

Interesting. Weight goes up to 5401g when you attach a controller. Love the typo.

SigmaR, 09 Jan 2023Nah, at that price you can buy a Steam DeckThis doesn't compete with the Steam deck since it doesn't play PC games.

It also doesn't compete with Switch since it doesn't play Switch games.

This is an extra $400 if you don't already own an Android smartphone. Nobody is going to buy this.

Technically, they are breaking MiHoYo's ToS with whatever android keymapping software they use.

TonyTuna, 07 Jan 2023From 264g to 5401g? That's one hell of a controller. It uses an Osmium shell for durability

Good luck in competing against Other portable gaming consoles like Steam Deck, Ayaneo, Onexplayer, GPD, odin, and others.

Hemedans, 07 Jan 2023while deck has more library than this perfomance wise they ... moreWhat you're talking about is Theoretical Performance. There is a big discrepancy when talking about real-world usage, especially when we consider efficiency.

This device will have better battery-life when doing:
Android Gaming, Cloud Gaming, Emulation from Atari upto PSP.

The crossover point is PS2, 3DS, GameCube and Wii.
ARM SoC is definitely more efficient but these emulators are really taxing. I expect ARM to hold an advantage for 3DS and GameCube, but lose to PS2 and Wii. Whereas the Nintendo Switch emualtion is more efficient on ARM but it's also not playable for most titles, whilst it's decently efficient on x86 and for the most part runs perfectly. In the coming years, I expect ARM to take this middle ground (plus PS Vita and NSwitch) but then stagnate, while x86 gets more powerful and cements itself for the high-end emulation (plus PS4).

The SteamDeck will have better battery-life when doing:
x86 Gaming, Windows Xp Gaming, Emulation from Xbox upto PS3.

Glad to see Qualcomm is diving into the world of gaming consoles. Nvidia has had its day with the Tegra X1, now it's time for the hotshot to take over.

Also it would just be better to buy the latest gaming phone and then use the Kishi V2 Pro on it. But I like what Razer is trying to do (make a handheld console with better specs). I just hope maybe the next generation of the Switch and Steam Deck will have higher refresh rate.

What's even the market for these? A real gamer would carry a Nintendo Switch or a Steam Deck, not some Android running device.
