Flashback: the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite punched above its weight

28 January 2023
This "lite" phone had the fastest charging speed of any Galaxy S phone, at least for a month. And it had a Snapdragon chip in regions that normally got Exynos.

This is one of the best phones I ever had from Samsung! Great cameras for both photos and videos. In some scenarios the selfie cam is better than S20 FE! Great battery life, very good performance overall. I still have it and obviously use it and I would buy it again, if it would come with a newer processor, so it can benefit of more android upgrades! I also had Note 10 Lite and I was very happy with it!

Snapdragon was only reason to buy this over Note 10 lite. Its been almost 3 years still my phone performs well.

I still have this model since mid 2020. It's a good phone but some sacrifices have been made and was soon superseded by S20FE.

The display panel is the same as A71 which was launched around the same time. The display quality was bad and died within months. I had a warranty replacement for the screen and hopefully would be the last time it needed another replacement again.

The OIS was kinda experimental type, the only time samsung used it to test water but didn't quite work out. This kind of OIS would be passed on to Vivo for X50 till X80 series (marketed as micro gimbal) but Vivo has recently ditched it on X90 series. Another brand using this is Asus zenfone 9.

Battery life was decent, can last through one and an half days when it was still new. But now no longer as decent with Battery degradation and software updates.

And i mean real poor people no donations to organizations where i dont see how or when my donations will be used.
Once i gave 4 full bags of my unused clothes i did not use anymore.
Always buy some food if i have space money for said people.
Because if i give em cash they spend on alcohol or tobbacco but when buy food they will be gradually happy.
Its something many rich people should learn.
Its nice to give to some charities but you never know maybe they will sell your free given clothes for 2 euros each. This way i am sure they end way i want.

But since i am very lazy for certain things i wonder whether i will be using it or not.
But aas i know myself probbably wont because it takes some time and for small things it useless to use it.

If you compare the specs between the two phones, the A90 5G has 5G bands, better glass protection (GG6 vs GG3+), faster internal storage (UFS 3.0 vs UFS 2.1), and USB-C 3.1 with wired DeX support. Maybe, if Samsung made the S10 Lite with similar hardware as the A90 5G, it won't be any cheaper than the S10 or S10+. After all, the A90 5G has the same original RRP as the S10e, and the S10 Lite is $100/€100 less than either.

There's just one area where Samsung really got it wrong: Putting USB-C 2.0. If Samsung keeps the USB-C 3.1 port and give DeX capability, this would have been a great phone.
