Apparently, the camera setup is the same as the pro model though so not sure what the difference is apart from the design.

If you are not interested in monthly security updates, than it´s your problem. I want my phone to be secure when I use it. I don't know what chronical perfomance problem are you talking. My S6 or S10, never had a problem.
If you are guided by the youtubers, than you are the one misinformed. By the way, there is a video which shows that S23 Ultra is faster thatn iphone 14 pro max.
But I don't care about those videos. I care about the perfomance that Samsung gives me. I won´t buy a smartphone which is good only in camera department. I want one which the best in everything especialy when they are in the same price range.
Besides that, I like sharp pictures so Samsung is perfect for me. I don't see any noise in my pictures. I don't know where did you get that. Maybe from your youtube reviewers which have an iWatch on their wrist?

You are like the most that think more updates the better, that's completely wrong. Most updates creates more problems and slow downs than goods.
Samsung can have more updates or be quicker delivery them but their software have chronical performance problems and degradation with time.
Go check all the YouTube performance comparisons side by side or all the long term reviews this web site is doing with the competitors.

Even their 200mpx cams are not the top in real quality terms, again go check gsmarena studio photos and check the crazy oversharpening and noise in the 23Ultra.
In the level of price we need a good camera without the post processing controlling all the scenario only to deliver a good locking images in small screens and for instagram.
In big screens that over processing procedures become evident and destroy any chances to tune the photo.

Software masks the lack of size of the sensors in smaller screens and put photos instagram ready.

Thankfully some brands are more conservative with software and use bigger sensors to narrow the gap for some camera.

You can't compare a photo worked by software with one taken by bigger sensors.
Even a 12mpx cam from 4 years ago is good to instagram and look good in 6 inches screen but nothing more than that because when we check the quality of the pixels taken in a big screen those smaller sensor that appear to have better image actually they are full of noise due to over processing.

The Magic 4 Pro is still with Android 12 like it was launched 11 months ago, the last brand to update to Android 13 and it was announced half a year ago... definetly these chinese brands don't care about user support. They ask for 1.300€ / 1.400$ but the support is so lame...

Better cameras on paper because in real life they don't reach the same quality. and if you look at them, most of them are Apple o Samsung copies with their notches and shapes.
I can tell you what Samsung gives me extra, their DEX, S-Pen, good cameras, good software support, 4 OS updates, not some chinese Android skin with hidden settings and all looking the same, good link with my Samsung TV, technical support and so on. If you like them, then buy them. I won´t.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2023We need 10X optical zoom , not 3.9 X optical with 100X Digi... moresome people also need a mid range zoom solution, a good solution is what samsung does, 3x and 10x optical... anyway digital zoom is shit, for that reason i never use these lenses outside their normal "optical" range, if you're crazy about zoom, get a lumix tz200, 1" sensor and continuous zoom from 1-15x...and it's quite "pocketable"

Its crazy how the chinese phones are the ones bringing progressive tech to the industry, been creating the best phones the past few years with the best camera quality and feature sets (honor only ones with biometric face scan and ultrasonic UD sensor, yes they are just like huawei used to be).
If you wanna spend £1000 on a chinese/south korean/indian made iphone 14 (13 re released) or £1000 for your basic, bottom of the mill s23 that removes features every year then go for it, we'll take the good devices that bundle everything you need in the box 😊.

According to the official HONOR mobile app, the Chinese launch will take place on March 6 and both vanilla Magic5 and Magic5 Pro will be available in all 5 colors. Memory-wise, vanilla Magic5 will have 8+256, 12+256, 16+256 and 16+512 configurations whereas Magic5 Pro will have 8+256, 12+256 and 16+512 configurations. There's no mentioning of the price yet, but using the launch price of Magic4 as a reference, it's possible that Magic5 will start at 3,999CNY (576USD) again, especially a bunch of new 8+G1 phones are launching in 2,000-3,000 range, such as OnePlus Ace 2 starting at 2,799CNY (403USD) and realme GT Neo5 starting at 2,599CNY (374USD).

So basically this year EVERY flagship phone be it from China, or Apple has a larger camera sensor than S23 Ultra's oversaturated yellow pox sensor, yet somehow S23 Ultra is one of the most expensive phones out there 🙄
