AlexPP, 16 May 2023So glad. Now it's Googles turn to fight with overheati... moreNo, nobody on Gsmarena is biased. They all form their own opinions from tech reviewers that report on what a device can actually do rather than an arbitrary comparison to a Samsung phone. Bias is simply not present on GSMarena.

Anton-, 16 May 2023until they come back with qualcom I don't touch a pixel....Meanwhile pixel phones absolutely destroying literally every other phone, Quallcomm, MediaTek, Apple, Unisoc, whatever. In lumafusion, there's nothing as fast as the pixel. You can complain about inefficiency, and that's a valid argument, but when it's time to get work done you will save time on a pixel.

Anonymous, 16 May 2023iPhones idle battery usage is way less than any android pho... moreEverytime I tried to do basic things on an iPhone like download files from Google drive, install texture packs in Minecraft pocket edition, even just bulk upload photos, it was a nightmare. Unless you're deep in the apple ecosystem, it's hell. I'm not interested in a walled garden. Who cares if your iPhone can sit idle for two days and barely lose any battery, doesn't matter if it's literally useless. No USB3, no manual camera mode, no expandable storage, no headphone jack. It's a lifestyle product and as soon as you actually try to get stuff done you realize that. What good is garage band if I can't even connect the phone to my USB3 interface. I'm not recording a song on the phone speaker because apple was too greedy to include USB-C with USB3.

I left my pixel 6 pro because it got hot even without using it! and it was downloading super fast

What a load of crap. Did google pushed an update convert the tenser processor to snapdragon? Then i can believe that they fixed the overheating.

Anonymous, 16 May 2023True though, Pixel devices are literally beta testing phone... moreThat's nice dear, but you can literally say the same thing about every phone that ever existed. Unless you can name a PERFECT phone with zero bugs and issues.

Anonymous, 16 May 2023iPhones idle battery usage is way less than any android pho... moreYes, the difference today is software not hardware. Most Android users are looking to AVOID iOS because of how it works, haha.

iPhone is known for the user experience and not the hardware prowess, so no snapdragon / exynos can replace the iPhone experience. They can be powerfull but can't match in the user experience just like windows and macOS.

I bought a Pixel 6 a month ago. Before that, I had been using Pixel 2 for long. Just a week ago I shared with one of my colleagues who also got the same Pixi 6 that this new one in some moment increases the temperature in a very high level. In comparison with Pixi 2 it is very annoying. Hope it is just a matter of app bug and could be fixed.

The sudden overheating and draining issue started on my Motorola edge 30 fusion a week back and went back to normal just a day before. I was frustrated as to what was causing it.

Koishi Komeiji, 16 May 2023lol, isn't Tensor processor is the main problem? No, not really. Battery efficiency problems were mostly solved 5nm and onwards. It was Samsung and TSMC's 7nm process where there were serious differences regarding energy efficiency. However, I wouldn't count on Google claiming to fix overheating issues. Samsung (And by definition, Google too) chips just overheat more versus TSMC's equivalents, regardless of what generation node the chips are fabbed in.

                                      "and requires no user intervention"
Other than, you know, downloading the update itself?? They never take into consideration people with limited internet or data caps I swear...

And I just disabled "Android System Intelligence".

Too much intelligence on my phone. I just want it to do what I want.
