Bru dont care gov only care about money. If u want better security and MONEY is the only way to get better security then why ask for MILLIONS and BILLIONS and then expect the security to be better when the budget is now lower.
Also the world doesnt need money to survive. People back then didnt cook only for money or made a little house and spears to defend themselfs from wild animals with money it was done CUZ IT HAD TO BE DONE. Not cuz someone paid you. Its the gov and society that fucked everyone up into believing that MONEY is the only way to survive. But no its not and not needed. You want a house you can build it and get help for free. And you repay them by doing the same for them and so on. Its the right thing to do. Not always about money.
A youtuber made little houses for the homeless but since they were living rent free all of a sudden the gov sent officials to take everything away and even some of them got jobs and but their own stuff and was also taken away. So you tell me..do we really need MONEY to survive ?????

And there are the human rights and freedom of speach and so on, that come into play. What they can do tough, is to teach people about data selling and how this garbage companies make more money per day selling their profile, then they themselves after a month of hard work.

the whole tech industry for consumers is basically illegal, laws that have been widely applied throughout the ages are not followed, this company has had its opportunities, everyone would be fine with an orderly complete shutdown

Dont worry, they just make new sub-company in Europe without direct connection to meta, send data there and then send it back to US as "encrypted analytic data" and if someone ask why its all so big and frequent they just say that "lots of data need lots of traffic"

When I read this news, I remembered a memory
When I was a student and a child, a few minutes before the exam, the teacher told the children to be quiet and sit down until I come back.
My friend provoked me and asked me to get up and go see the questions on the exam papers that were on the teacher's desk and tell others!
After the teacher returned, my friend told the teacher what I did and I was punished :))

Hopefully they'll nail them again soon and give them a another fine much larger than the current one. This is a good development from EU and I'm sure Meta will get a lot more fines in the future. I don't care who they share the data with, but the social network itself has become nonsense; It's inconvenient and full of ads/misinformation. A very toxic place.
