AnonD-45563, 17 Apr 2013Here comes another strong contender for the 2013 smartphone... moreAgree! LG always use the latest chips, hardwares, but MAN, they CANT optimize it well. I really dont get it why they always push there engineers to produce a phone with all the latest tech, but cant really optimize the use of chip. Just compare LG's quad-Krait benchmarks to any other OEM'S using also the same chip, they're way behind. I still prefer Sony's optimization even they're late in producing new chips. At least, they can push the performance of the chip in its full potential. Sony's dual-krait can match Sammy's Quad-Exynos (S3). And nothing comes close to Sony in benchmarks on dual-krait category. I can assure that LG's S800 will be close to Sony's S600, and LG will just have a slight lead.

This is LG: Buying a car that could run 160 MPH but you can only use around 100 MPH.
Not really a fan of Sony but I'm a fan of there engineers! Really impressive optimization in there team. ;D

I'm guessing it's the new Optimus device with the Krait 800 processor...I can't wait to replace my S3 with a non Sammy device this yr.

LG comes up with beasty phones which comprise awesome IPS display, beefier CPU and GPU, decent battery backup. Too bad its update schedule and Optimus UI are phucked up.

On 29th of March, GsmArena informed us about a benchmark of a "wild" LG device with a Snapdragon 800 chipset. I quote: "The device is set to feature the new Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor alongside Adreno 330 GPU with a screen resolution of 1794 x 1080 (which is 1080p with virtual buttons). The new GPU managed to easily outdo even the iPad 4, let alone the current smartphone top dogs.

Not much else is known about the device beyond the Android 4.2.2 OS, although with such a specs sheet it will be quite a high-end offering when LG decide to put it on the market."

Well, if this is the case, i can't wait for the unveiling event. They need this like a fish needs water!
