And Android = complicated, simply because it is so customisable. That's not just Android, Symbian is just as bad.

iPhone is simple and easy to use, with an extremely well-rounded customer experience for both the phone itself, and the customer service element. It's like driving an automatic, maybe not as much fun, but hell of a lot simpler.

The only people that I know that want extreme customisation, widgets and phone hacks are here on GSMARENA.

This is a premium buyers' perspective of smartphone users - hence, the iPhone dominance among Verizon subscribers. Those who purchase their phones off-contract would likely see an increase in android purchases. Why? Because there is no such thing as a low-end iPhone. The iPhone 5 is clearly expensive for what it offers, and even the older models cost too much $ for what they offer the user. On the other hand, you can find an android device from the cheapest ~$60 smartphones all the way to the Vertu Ti. That's what android offers, choices. It's also open-source so lots of customization can be done both by manufacturers and by users.

While an iPhone might do everything you need it to do, it very well may lack features, skills and abilities that someone else needs/wants.

In any case, it a bit a pity that they did not disclose the figures of the rest, even in the mildest form. But, as the article already states, it is very likely that the major part of it's further sales consists out of Android devices, as BlackBerry came too late with the Z10 for Q1 in any case, and Nokia's figures released today tell a story of little sales.
