Any idea if Arc S will get Jelly Bean update. Its not fair on Sony's side to ditch the customers who bought the older Xperia product and its not fair on sony's end to not provide update if thats the case they should not be seeling the phones

Ya, I prefer it to arrive a bit later and have minimal issues than to arrive early and buggy. Android 4.1 is the most perfect version so far. I'm using Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus, both devices have multiple issues on Android 4.2.2, which is pathetic. Once Xperia Go gets 4.1 Jelly Bean, I think I'll swtich back fully to Xperia Go. Xperia Go was running fine on 2.3.7 Gingerbread but it became very laggy and buggy after upgrading to 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. Let's hope 4.1 for Xperia Go works flawlessly.

AnonD-115286, 22 Apr 2013I found the "answer" in sony mobile forum about y... moreFirst off, Mali-400 is a far better and newer GPU compared to Adreno 200. Secondly, I don't know the exact math behind the Mali-400 using more RAM compared to an outdated GPU like Adreno 200 but all of it sounds like an excuse from Sony.
Xperia U would have been far more successful if not for the lack of MicroSD slot and now Sony put the final nail in its coffin by not updating it to JB despite giving buggy ICS.

Pawan Kalyan, 22 Apr 2013Oh please! You mean to say the single A5 core of Xperia J c... moreI found the "answer" in sony mobile forum about your question, which said/claims that it is the Xperia U's GPU to be blame for not getting 4.1 update. The Mali-400 GPU is more memory intensive compare to newer GPU such as Xperia J's Adreno 200. Thus, even though Xperia U & J r only having 512 RAM, but Xperia J have a better GPU and capable to run the 4.1 Jelly bean smoothly. While Xperia P who using the same chipset,CPU and GPU which used on Xperia U but having 1Gb RAM (luckily) are able to get Jelly Bean update.
But personally, I don't believe on the excuses above, just share the information to other ppl. Anyway, my Xperia P is fortunately still manage to get the official 4.1 update from Sony, though get delayed almost a month (original schedule is before end of March).....
