poophone, 22 Jun 2023This will never match a Garmin, Suunto or Polar watch in te... moreI used Garmin watches starting with Forerunner 610, Garmin Fenix 2 and now I'm on Fenix 6X solar pro. The first two are in conservation mode in a drawer, they are recharged from time to time, fully functional, but outdated. They are very expensive and don't really justify the price, sincerely. The top of the line Fenix and Epix today cost like a decent flagship smartphone. Compare AMOLED models with Amazfit and you come to the conclusion that you get ripped off by G, P, S, because the designers are paid in the 100k-150k + ($,€,£) range and the products are still buggy out of the box. Fenix 2 notifications never worked right, they fixed it just as I decided to get Fenix 6 and they did not work right on Fenix 3 either. I work in chip design and I know how things work in this field, not that I do something like this: release a product on time, even buggy, because it can be fixed in software later. Yes, it can, but you step with high heels on the customers' nerves and patience. My wife has a Garmin Venu Sq 2 and batt life is barely a work week, monday-friday. I bought my kid an Amazfit GTS 4 mini and with full monitoring activated lasts 14-18 days, with AMOLED screen and overall better experience, my kid is trilled about it, enjoys the physical activities for the sake of the watch. When Chinese will introduce NFC as standard and improve the software, many top companies will loose a lot of their core fans. I can buy today and get delivered tomorrow morning (in Romania) an Amazfit Cheetah Pro for 210€ (you read right, 210, not 300), and I will do it, because for 210€ I will not be disappointed. The Fenix 6X is sluggish and down to 13 days max endurance as smartwatch with notifications. Any watch face other than official ones from Garmin consumes more power, and the official ones are useless. They know people don't use them and rely on IQ store developers.
15-20 years ago everybody laughed at Chinese companies duplicating very badly Nokia phones, "on the knees, on the moving ship" was the expression. Since 2015 they make the best smartphones and for me the first two makers are out of the question as phones, never been disappointed by Xiaomi, OnePlus. Technology evolves fast and getting stuck in the false confidence that your fans will continue buying your products "just because" is a sure way to loose business.

Been using amazfit for last 3 years. Love the watch, amazing battery life. But the app for phone.. The app is very ugly and messy.

will never buy amazfit again unless if they change something with zepp.

Don't like the (hard) bezels OR the screen bezel; totally unnecessary. Needs more RAM and more ROM and onboard maps (says they have some off line maps but...) before Amazfit can be taken seriously. I am interested to see what the SQUARE version offers?!

This will never match a Garmin, Suunto or Polar watch in terms of sleep, health, and fitness tracking, GPS and navigation capabilities are a joke compared to the 3 companies mentioned above.
The cheap fitness bands Xiaomi makes I get, but this?
Don't understand why Xiaomi still making these watches when for 300$ you can have a more than decent Garmin, Suunto or Polar with far better capabilities and more accurate readings and why people keep buying them.

A compelling feature set, particularly the ability to dwonload an offline map. Even if you can't quite navigate via the watch like you would with google maps on WearOS the ability to import a GPX route and then display it on an actual map image can be useful for understanding which turns and roads you will be following, just in a more clunky manner to set up.

However based on what I've seen of other Amazfit devices, this will be heavily let down by the sensors because they just cannot seem to get halfway decent heart rate tracking to work and is at best ~50-60% reliable.
