Weekly poll: the Asus Zenfone 10 shows small flagships still exist, are you getting one?

02 July 2023
While not all that small, the 10 smaller than everything that offers its particular combination of flagship chipset, high-end display and good battery.

Still uninteresting, the flagship that consumes a lot of battery power but just got a < 5,000 mAh battery

Dongle DACs have DAC chips for a reason, and that's to IMPROVE audio quality. CX31993 for example, up to 32bit/384kHz.

And you're trying to tell me that doesn't make a difference in audio quality?

I had zenfone 9 and while hardware was top spec,. software and bugs are overwhelming.amd Asus have no intentions to fix bugs but just to throw out new phone. Plus 2 years of updates are crap also.
Before buying,.go on zenphone forum and look at loong list of problems that people wants to be solved, but nothing . Avoid

Should have been smaller. 146mm is a stretch with edge to edge screen.

Chaos X 1982, 03 Jul 2023Because Asus had dedicated SD cards for ZenFone 6, 7, 7 Pro... moreSony with there narrow style like TV remote controller dont fit in the segment of compact or small phone cause the narrowness makes the phone tall. If sonly would have the 5V as 146mm tall like this Zenfone then we can talk about small or compact. To have just screen size as 6.1 inch but still be 153-155mm tall is nothing when 6.5 inch is expected screen size in this tall phones for screens. I have 6.67 inch screen in 161mm tall phone so for half a inch smaller phone i expect it to be 146mm tall max

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2023Sure, the S23 has better camera, build & s/w support, b... moreI dont really care for iphones as it's not for me. also i13 is in same size as i14 cause they have one design for like 5 generation.

Better grip is solved with a case or you can just wrap the phone. Battery is all about how you use the phone where as for some it last for a week but for others it last a day so it's hard to say that just 400mAh more give you much and justify over 100 euro more in price.
And is there really much videos done to compare S23 with ZF10 ? To judge quality on them and that video stabilization ? While it's good to have 3.5mm jack but that also dont justify the higher price. While you say better camera s/w updates and build quality in favor of S23 i would think that is a must have for flagship premium device as these are the things where you cut corners to get cost down while for Asus it's seems that it's the parts where they cut cost down to have more profit from the device

Sad to see that this phone has a 800% storage markup and a 400% RAM markup...

Quality headphones will let your hear what the phone is capable of reproducing. Dongles add another cumbersome blob to get snagged on things hence why i look specifically for phones with a jack.

Phone is literally the size of the original Note, I.e. the phone that coined the term phablet. It's not an even a phone proper, like everything else these days it is a phone-tablet (a phablet). True phones (pocketable even in small pockets, one handed use) have gone the way of the dodo.

In fact nothing over 130mm x 65mm is a mini, true minis are 120mm × 60mm or smaller in fact. We don't get anything close to that for almost a decade. This is not a mini, this is not even a phone, it's a phablet, just on the smaller side.

2 year OS support, no thanks.

I'm not bluffing either. My last phone was Samsung S10+ and now I'm using S23 Ultra and I still use my S10+ like a connected Steam Deck to play emulators and watch Netflix on my TV. My S10+ is still very very very usable and relatively snappy.

Smartphones are super capable of anything these days. App makers also tend to create apps that can be used by many users from all economic levels. So it made no sense for them to create apps that are too demanding. Camera is probably the next thing that might sway buyers to buy what phone. But overall the current generation of smartphone has hit the plateau and if a flagship is not supported with minimum of 3 years of OS upgrade and/or 4 years of security upgrade, I'd rather buy a budget phone.

Gaming on the other hand is the only place left where specs really matter.
