09 July 2023
An heirloom smart pocket device, a non-smartphone, but also a smartphone - the Runcible was many things or at least it tried to be.

you have to suffer, 10 Jul 2023there is no way to fit a projector in circular device. even... moreWhich is why I love what Motorola did with Moto Mods. You can seamlessly add any accessories to the back of the phone without having the need to mess around with the phone's internal hardware. Man, I really wish Moto Mods make a real comeback, it's a much more practical solution than Bluetooth.

Update, 11 July: The leaked images in this article have all been removed by Nintendo's copyright takedown request. Copies can still be found online or in sources linked at the bottom of the article.

Hills od, 09 Jul 2023Something like this existed? No, not outside of beta hardware.

It would be better if it was way bigger. With that, it can function as a realistic digital clock.

IpsDisplay, 10 Jul 2023Just give this a hologram/projector interface.. problem solved there is no way to fit a projector in circular device. even galaxy beam cuts motherboard size and battery due to dedicated projector.

This was a nice flashback. Never even knew circular phones existed. Honestly, I would see lots of potential for a round phone. I can imagine an entirely new UI and UX specifically designed for a circular display (I mean for smartphones, so not including wearOS, but perhaps taking inspiration cues from it).

Killing off Firefox OS is really one of the worst mistake done by Mozilla. With how much FOSS apps getting popular each day, Firefox OS would be a good OS. Yeah I know the fork of it still exist (KaiOS and Panasonic SmartTV OS), but the OS is closed source unlike Firefox OS. Maybe because they are too late (or too soon) making an OS.

If this was out today and ran wear os I would've probably bought this lol. Especially if it has a kick stand or smth so you can use it as a smart display.

would've been a very pretty device, if nothing else

                            Something like this existed?

You forgot to mention the infamous Siemens Xelibri lineup, fashion phones allergic to rectangular shapes. I liked them a lot.

that snapdragon 410 chip.. was decently fast in 2017.
and that disappointing os.. from what i remember, it requires you to have internet in order to use basic and essential apps often found in smartphones or even cell phones. meaning it is html based.

It looks like a smartwatch but without a strap.
