Ice Universe: the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ will have LTPO displays

01 August 2023
Samsung has been using LTPO panels on the Ultra models since the S21 generation, but the two smaller models stuck with old school panels.

Comparing the specs of this and 22, it seems there enough differences to hopefully make this a good upgrade, just not sure about the zoom.

The 22 could do 100 zoom, not sure how "far" you can push the 24.

I know on the 22 "moon" pics were ai generated, otherwise, did you really expect a phone to capture the moon ... Even on a fantastic night, with perfect conditions.

Photos I've tried to push to 100 zoom, dont seem to get anywhere near that capability.

The square area of the phones is the same give 0.03 difference (and no I can't remember which one had this extra bit).

Will the flatter screen make a difference on viewing?

Certainly wished all clips could be zoomed to full screen, not just some sources.

Also wished online/FB etc pictures could get better zoomage (fed up of complaining ... Can't zoom much admin my phone ... Come on, what's the point in saying in setting force zoom, but can't really zoom pics.

In editing pics, I want to zoom to edit, but not save it cropped/zoomed.

Big hopes for a bigged up phone.

There is no doubt about Apple technology. Development and progress. Any company that reads my message will succeed. Steel body frame. Low power high resolution screen. glass body headphone jack Pressure heart rate sensor...eye scan. 7000 mAh battery. The distance between the triplets. Samsung must come back, otherwise it will be shunted out like Nokia. . Creativity made Samsung win. Now only the battery consumption and the quality of the parts are important. SanDisk wireless memory is a good idea in the absence of a SIM card memory. Doji thermal and night vision camera. And... if everyone is on the same platform phone, it's great and that company brands and of course Blackberry's security is implemented in it.

I would be surprised if they went back to QHD for standard and Plus - no one likes a price hike

Finally, it's always been the right thing to do cuz how else would they increase the battery life since they can't increase the capacity

What a pathetically low bar for a so-called "enthusiasts". Average consumers just don't give a d*mn about it. All they want is something that just works, that's all.
