Anonymous, 17 Aug 2023Are we so lazy that we don't want to read full article... moreYes, many people are. I've read that typical "reader" can pay attention to an article for about five minutes. Anything longer leads to skipping parts or not reading it at all.
So now, instead of making people read more, AI is going to crunch the article and give them a brief summary. Depending on who will program the AI and create the learning basis. I guess it's going to make people even more prone to manipulation.

Finally, it's the only reasonable usage of current generation "AI" - use results of search engine, not trained probability of words. Thanks to this, hallucination will be almost gone.
It was not introduced by OpenAI, because it needs several times more resources. And Bing with OpenAI is not working great because Bing search results are much worse than google. Let's see would it be only summarization of search pages (not so good) or also improvement of search results. Who, if not Google, can do it well? Google search engine was almost revolution...

Google is so late. Brave browser's default search engine been doing this for long time.

Do we really need Artificial Incompetence for EVERYTHING? What’s next? The world’s first AI toilet flushing algorithm?

When I clicked the source and saw „generative AI“ in the title, I heard it in Sundar Pichai‘s voice.
