(350 > 800 is 130% increase).

Can literwlly only mean Xiaomi wants extra profit now.

Also i believe street price are much lower than retail, at least from my country the street price are commonly 10% lower than official pricing, with 13Ultra going almost 20% lower.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2023exaggerated. Since when is it 4x or 400% more? Its more like 40%.Actually, I looked it up. This year Xiaomi are charging roughly 80% more in Europe compared to Chinese pricing. I have quoted some examples below. Basically, in terms of mark up, this is more than any of the other Chinese brands charge in Europe.

            Examples
            Xiaomi 13 8gb 256 gb - China price 4,299 rmb (542 euro) - Europe price 999 (Euro) - 84 % increase
            Xiaomi 13 ultra 16 gb 512gb - China price 6,499 rmb (821 euro) - Europe price for 12gb 512 gb (no 16gb variant in Europe) 1,500 euro - 83% increase

Take Honor as an example competitor
            Honor Magic 5 pro 16gb 512gb - China price 6,199rmb (783 euro) - Europe price for 12gb 512gb (no 16gb variant in Europe) 1,200 euro - 53% difference.

There is a huge gap between an 83/84% increase and a 53% increase. Costs of doing business in Europe would be the same so it can only be explained by simple profiteering. This is the main point. Xiaomi pricing in Europe is excessive compared to other brands for Xiaomi branded phones at least. Unfortunately, that's what typically happens when brands become more successful. They look for higher profit margins. A few years ago they didn't charge these type of excessive mark ups in Europe

K60 Ultra should sell better than Mix Fold 3, especially with people not prepared for foldables and those haters.

thedeev1, 17 Aug 2023What sucks is that it will cost nearly 4x more when sold in... moreWhy they wouldn't, with no competition, its easy to sell lite version at slightly lower price, with similar specs as those sold by others.
Lol, apple still with no fold. Mate folds already a history, still no competition in hw or useful design.
                                Only copycats now.
All with the same shapes, like round corners, same symmetrical shape, no back design are the only option.

That's why Mate x2 foldable with 0.6x,1x,3x,10x is still worth nearly 4000euro, since nothing comes close.
Mix fold 3 got also 4+ cameras 0.6x,1x,(2x digital),3x,5x 1500euro is a great price considering what others offer, may be 2000euro later.
I would place vivo x fold 1.gen to 3rd place with 0.6x,1x hi res and 2x,5x low res, perfect phone if you prefer hi res sw lens, not sure but may go for 1300euro.
Not saying that cheap foldables are not great, as its affordable to more people, but its just mid range camera hw. Nothing for those buying flagships.
No wonder MF3 sell like hot pancakes.

I guess Xiaomi is now trying to win back the profits that it lost for selling so cheap so many years. There is no way shipping, RnD, marketing, etc warrants that much of a price increase.

It's like Apple charging 1000 USD on iPhone in USA, and then selling it for 4000 USD internationally to compensate for something.
