The partnerships are with BTS, Pokemon, Keith Haring, and Minions. The launch is Korea-only for the time being but more markets to follow soon.

I think this all is very hypocritical. There is nothing ecologic in the way the majority of the brands produce their devices. Ecology is not making small packages without plastic (and without charging brick), nor the accessories. It's about how the raw materials are delved, manipulated into finished materials, the way it is designed and assembled, the shipping methods, the sustainability and durability of the goods they sell. All the rest is just cheap marketing to fool people that these giants actually care about ecology. The only thing they care about is the volumes and profits at any cost. Should they really care about the planet then they would not launch new models every year (several times a year) with the marketing and sales army that works very hard in making you believe you absolutely need their products (and preferably each time they have something new). Real ecology would mean that devices are created in a fully modular way where each component can be repaired, replaced or even upgraded without changing the basis. Applying standardisation to facilitate this. The business model would not be making new shit each year but upgrading, repairing stuff with the least amount of waste. A bit like Fairphone tries (with the emphases on try) to do. Would these products be as aesthetic as current products? Probably not, it would be different but certainly as usable as current idiotic stuff. Stuff like making phones beautiful but so fragile you have to put it in ugly cases (especially when you pay big time for it and you had to work hard for the cash). Don't be fooled. It's a lie.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2023Samsung 2 weeks later: Introducing limited edition phone... moreI am fairly certain Samsung was the first global brand to stop using plastic on the smartphone packaging.

The non-existent charger is a hot topic for all brands. Samsung's solution is to almost always sell chargers at very "low" profit, like 15 bucks for a 25W charger.

They're definitely not hippie levels of green, but compared to the other global brands they're flippin' saints.

I am fr addicted to the transition in the video

Sounds likely a “marketing purpose” that possibly can be a backfire later

they should use eco-friendly materials in their normal accessories already or at least 90% of their non-tech prpducts. thats the least they can do. but no, instead they're just gonna use it for a limited edition products ffs

Probably those cases will have poor durability, judging from the S23 line-up. Basically, all S23 recycled plastic covers degrade pretty fast and break, peel off etc.

Isn't PVC highly toxic? How's this supposedly "Green"?

What a beautiful lie and a super self-deception.
As if environmentally friendly accessories existed at all?
The whole business of smartphones and peripherals is by definition not environmentally friendly.
This is just propaganda to boost business.
Capitalism and environmental friendliness are incompatible.

All of this Accessories reminds me of 1995-2015. Golden times of Accessories on electronics back then.

Can't think of anything I want more sprawled across the back of my £1000 tablet then the word "toilet paper"
