I thought you meant it will be more efficient because it might have a smaller screen, but your logic is it's more efficient than a flagship? But is it more efficient than A04 or other models in its category? So, the battery will still be a huge downgrade. And no, 4000mah are far from enough, flagship or not. And BTW cheap phones have a lot less efficient cpus and a lot worse software optimization, so it's not guaranteed a flagship will have worse battery life.

    The simple fact is that flagship phones consume more power than budget phones. There will be more logic in silicon that raises the TDP, more CPU and GPU cores which also run at higher clock frequencies, screens that run at higher refresh rates, and more.

    Calling a budget phone with a 20% smaller battery "outdated" is spouting nonsense and hyperbole. But that's to expect.

    This particular phone has a 4000 mAh battery because it doesn't need more for the targetted use case, not because Samsung engineers are stupid or want to hurt the feelings of benchmark experts.

Modem and SoC (The two biggest power hogs) draw the same amount of power regardless of screen size. So yes, a phone with a smaller battery will always be worse and it will only rival the phone with the bigger battery in certain scenarios (Like book reading).

              This A0x subset is interesting. It appears so far to be strictly 4G only.
              A1x and above have seen a 5G model released in 2023

              As to your point, from the various models I have seen
              Samsung appears to want to make the "A" phones similar from the back.

              A0x have the basic very basic camera setup, 50Mp 2Mp 2Mp with camera flash 3 camera plus flash.

                  Waiting for official reveal. This could be a smaller phone in the case of which I'll gladly set aside my flagship and switch to this entry level phone just for size

                      Interesting that they're deciding to just stick to one back cam like their Core phones. Guessing it's going to be 50MP like previously.

                          Using A52. Pretty good but will buy a flagship next time.

                            Having a single camera would be ideal, they can use more of that budget into a better SOC, no need for these phones to flaunt having multiple cameras just to get outshined by an iPhone 6

Not every ... moreBoth the Zenfone 9 and 10 are well under 190 grams, both are only around 6 inches and have 4300mAh batteries. Yes, they are flagship phones, but that has nothing to do with battery size.

                                  4000mAh battery? Probably going to be advertised above 4000. It better be thin and desirable phone. I'm also hoping the display to be smaller. The previous A0x series was a complete mess with the design.

                                      so they are starting to make the Ax5 series for the midrange devices, nice!

                                        I doubt that, but if that's true, it's going to be outdated the moment they release it.
