People didn't want a mini and now so does Apple.

Apple missed a trick with the iPhone mini, it's not that people don't want smaller screens, they do. Apple priced the mini too close to the larger standard size, there was no value incentive to get the mini in that regard, For $100 more people thought they were getting a better proposition by buying the regular version even though both phones were identical (other than screen)

They should have killed off the SE and priced a new mini at the same price point as the SE.

        "People simply didn't want small screen phones, they wanted a Plus". All of my colleagues bought this phone, many of my friends aswell. I'd say is the iPhone i see the most besides the pro max over here in germany is the iPhone mini. The iPhone mini was also the cheapest option to get an iphone over here (549€ right now - that's 20€ more than a new Iphone SE).

        All of my other friends and people around me keep asking for a compact phone with flagship specs but keep ending up with pixel or Samsung phones 6" and higher. And no, they dont get used to it, they moan, complain and rant about 6" just being too large. Saying "People simply didn't want small screen phones" is wrong. Internationally it seems mostly right.

        Let's just put it this way:
        The mini was beloved in some countries but Apple simply didn't make enough money with it, so they cancled it.

                That's the reason why the mini didn't sell as much but the SE still selling with unchanged price and apple will likely release another SE as well

                  Since Apple keep using the iPhone 8 hardware for the SE, it's only a matter of time before the 13 mini gets resurrected as a future iPhone SE model.

                  As for the 13, 14 and 14 Plus, the price remains unchanged here in Malaysia.

                      The 14 Pro/Pro Max has also disappeared from their website even though it could have been an alternative to the 15/15Plus at a very close price

                        Owner of a 12 mini, I am more than happy with my mini. Screen sizes are bigger and bigger nowadays. I changed from a X to the 12 mini and was a relief (height and weight). Perhaps one day Apple will bring back the mini lineup. Until then I will continue with my 12 mini…

                              iPhone 13 for 600$ is an incredible value. This will be the highest selling iPhone in 2024.

                                Probably klicked to "submit" too soon accidentally. 😁Anyway, Mini was too expensive, but yes, 6 inch does feel like a mini now. For me it's time to get Mini probably in 2-4 years, then it's in my price bracket. Using SE 1. gen and a huge Android now - one fits into my pocket, the other one has battery that doesn't need a refill two times a day. 🙂

People who want a compact phone don't want it for doing everything on a phone so it doesn't make sense to pay that much and SE pricing would be perfect.

                                    iOS isn't particularly very useful to me but since there isn't any decent compact android in the proper midrange segment, I got interested in the 13 mini last year when the 14 series came out but in my country, only the vanilla 13 got a price reduction. Since last year, the 13 mini has been about $40 more expensive than the 13, which is so messed up lol.

                                        In the US and European Markets - people didnt buy.

                                        But in Asia the market was strong and Japan in particular as soon as stock came in, it sold.

                                        Those commenting here have a US view, but the world is big.
                                        They say in the US iphone 13 mini was 3% of sales - but it would be a lot higher in Asia.

                                        They have just chosen he larger global market to reduce costs, as the SE competed with it - and now the lineup is poor you have only 2 size phones, just with different specs then the SE.

                                        I suspect they will keep the SE as the small phone and boost the spec (and the price) when a new one is released.
