After my file transfer experiment involving the microSD card slot, I thought I did the same with my USB-C 3.1 OTG thumb drive by transferring the same folder from the phone's internal storage to it. Guess what? The transfer speed is far lower than the microSD card. It's almost half the speed that I got from the microSD card. It does show that the phone's internal storage does bottleneck the microSD card and USB OTG drive.

Problem is that I have IIISi laptop and has micro sd slot but with UHS II that means has
Extra 8 pins so total 16 pins and transfer is like 250.. The bigger SD card has UHS III and can do crazy speeds
Best micro sd card is pro grade cheaper than Lexar...

Only Huawei and lexar maybe some 2 or 3 more non known.. When u go fb market and u type nm card it us always only Huawei.. As some rich ppl bought it and realised they don't need it

They don't need to implement an high performance chip and hi storage chip into sim card because it cost just £1 🙂 or online order free..

I learned the hard way when returning to my mum's old hometown during the school holidays. The speed is so slow, and the coverage is almost nonexistent. Anything involving the use of a cloud server is totally out of the question.

Memory cards make so much sense for photos and video instead of taking up space on the MoBo or using gimmicky cloud space.

Sam N8 808 owner, 12 Oct 2023I'm using a high quality 512GB class 3 card in my LG G... moreI'm currently using an LG V50 and an LG Wing, and I can confirm that the slow thumbnail loading in Gallery happened because of Android 12. When I updated my Wing to Android 13, that problem was solved. It's snappy and fast with no lag on Android 13. It's a shame that the V50, G8, and G8X won't get Android 13.

The last time I had one, it only lasted about six months. I bought my current 512GB microSD card from a genuine dealer with a factory-backed warranty, and it still functions well after one year of hard use.

I'm using a high quality 512GB class 3 card in my LG G8x, it's maybe a little faster than this NM Card... and the only scenarios where it feels like its slow is:-
1. Loading thumbnails while browsing thousands of pics in an album... it takes about 2 seconds on an older app, Quickpic.
2. That's it.
Otherwise, I record 1080p240 on it, 4K60 on it, I play them too. I keep full size movies that play flawlessly.
I know that memory cards will slow down APPS/ GAMES on it. But hey... by default apps are stored on internal memory, so no worries.
In fact, as all my media is on the memory card, the internal memory is still 53GB free, so overall it does help make my phone faster & versatile.
So, no doubt a good move for Huawei owners if the price is ok. Right now, 512's run at $33 or so.

So for example I currently use the mate 60 pro plus 512gb and after a couple of years the internal storage will run out. The existence of NM cards are for those who uses Huawei phones including myself. Lexar made the new 512NM card for the Huawei phone users to make money.
