The iPhones are still one of the longest lasting and a smaller Phone has lower power consumption. That the chipset is efficient is way more important than the battery being large.

Your battery can have 10000mah and will still end up giving you less hours off battery life in 3 years than a 4000mah cell after 3 years when the chipset wasn't efficient.

What damages the battery the most is high temperature.

and a 10°C difference let's the battery age about 2-3 Times faster.
So the 10000mah cell will have aged like it is almost a decade old and be useless.

and its a powerfull mid ranger soc

you can get a pixel 6a for like $300 and it'll have a vastly better CPU, GPU, camera, and software promise (oh, and the battery on the 6a is 10 mAh larger despite the screen being 0.5 inches smaller). the only reasons why i can see someone buying this turd are the screen and charging speed.

90Hz is sufficient for a midranger. 144Hz is overkill.

As a sidenote: people need to understand the North American smartphone market to understand why this is a good phone. Obviously from the pov of European and Asian markets this is mehhh at best value proposition.

This phone is lacking in the chipset department. This is literally a downgrade from not only last year, but the year before. The battery is also smaller than I'd prefer. Aside from the usual no headphone jack and MicroSD card, this phone is otherwise a really solid phone. Great display, properly fast charging (very rare in the US), and even an IP68 rating. Camera is probably mediocre.

Wait until this comes down in price if you can stomach the faults. Otherwise, just get last year's model for just $250 on Amazon for the 8/256 tier.

If we were to get the best of snapdragon and dimensity for example (SD 8 gen 2 or D9200+) the raw performance doesn't matter but the snapdragon will come with better optimisations and energy efficiency.
For this specific dimensity 7030, it seem all round reliable chip but probably not great for the likes of gaming.
Besides that I'm a fan of using more energy efficient cores here than performance cores.
Whilst in this phone the soc looks like it's weakness it actually makes sense seeing as this phone has most bells and whistles that a flagship phone would have without the performance that the majority of the market doesn't utulise.
