Wow, cool specs for a rugged phone, but will it perform decently? D8050 is strong enough for basically anything, but it's thermal management is a mixed bag when stressed enough in tests.

Anonymous, 15 Oct 2023Another rugged phone, another same exact story - great spec... morecause no one wants a small display

Oukitel is a dreadful company to do business with - I have bought 2 Oukitel phones - the last one a WP21 bought in February 2023. The microphone didnt and doesnt work. The other phone i bought a few years ago didnt work at all. The worst part of Oukitel is the customer service - absolutely terrible - disrespectful staff who DO NOT respond to their WhatsApp accounts, staff in customer service in AliXpress make ridiculous demands for customers and when those demands are met - in my case they demand a video of the problem - I made several and each video i sent - the IT staff in customer service couldnt view - too long or wrong format and no matter what i did always an excuse - so the next option was to send the phone - at my expense and they would look at it and see if it really did have a problem and they would fix or send another phone - the phone cost me $500aud - now I am expected to spend postage costs - to them and back from them - Clearly they are not to be trusted - I have contacted every email and or WhatsApp number related to Oukitel - I have posted to their FB page - NO RESPONSE. Australia is potentially a huge market for the rugged phone idea - over 50000 grey nomads - the other part of Oukitel business are their generators - australia is again a potentially huge market for them - BUT - Oukitel CANNOT BE TRUSTED - the products are shabby and the customer service is a disgrace - Oukitel as a business cannot be successful with this kind of shabbiness. No matter how good it might appear in the advertising - get an alternative phone - if you have to pay more for an alternative it is worth it because Oukitel will not service you as a customer - there is obviously NO WARRANTY and nobody in Oukitel is willing to talk to me as a customer - the service people are rude and are allegedly IT support - but they cannot view a simple mpg file - Save your money for another product. I continue to post information about Oukitel everywhere I can because this company is a disgrace.

Ya its not easy today getting a phone beside the norm... Everyone making nearly the same size phones 😳

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2023No source, just what it feels like. But if you want to know... moreWish someone would make a modern version of the Nexus 6, large and relatively light. With current technology, it could have the same size or larger screen, in a smaller body and a larger battery. I would loose the headphone jack for some IP rating.

When everyone says they want 'bigger' phones, the reality is they want WIDER phones. All the current flagship and most mid-range phones are tall and skinny. They have less screen area than phones from. 3-8 years ago but can claim they are "bigger" because of the 6.7" diagonal that is tall and skinny.

My main "work" phone has been an ancient Nexus 6, that is 3.3 inches wide and on its 4th battery. The issue now in Microsoft has stopped support for many apps (Teams, Outlook, etc) for Marshmallow. I missed getting a Mate 20X as that would have been a perfect replacement. I have been using the Oukitel K9 for a few months now - it "works", but the apps keep crashing all the time, randomly - probably due to lack of memory. Foldables would fit the use case but not the budget - at least the K9 was cheap!
