22 October 2023
These offered dust and water resistance plus hardware buttons and larger batteries than the regular S-phones, but were nowhere near as popular.

I have such fond memories of these phones. I used the s6 active to the s8 active and i loved these phones. Such a shame they stopped making phones like this or else i would still use Samsung devices. S7 Active was my favorite because it had a front fingerprint sensor that was quick and also a cool camo color :)

                  2020 - xCover Pro - Exynos 9610, S9 camera level, 4000mAh.
                  2022 - xCover 6 Pro - QSD 778, S20 camera level, 4100mAh
2023 - xCover 7 Pro, Maybe a Dec release, bump to 4500mAh, go for the new QC 7g1+ chipset, as said by others a notchless design, lastly the S21Ultra camera level I hope.

...then maybe a February 2025 model, xCover 8 Pro, using QC 8g2 (See AYN Odin2), 5000mAh battery, and camera system from S23 Ultra. Keep the User Removable Battery and that rugged design.

I'd love to see the next-gen XCover Pro model with a flagship-grade SoC and more RAM. Not that I have any problem with the XCover6 Pro's Snapdragon 778G SoC and 6GB RAM, but I think it deserves better performance. Even Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 8GB RAM are still a solid combo.

MasTomi, 23 Oct 2023Yeah. LCD is dying technology. Even for sub 150$ phone use ... moreIn the consumer space, AMOLED is preferred due to its inky blacks and better contrast. In the end, that's what consumers like, the same reason why glossy is preferred compared to matte. Besides, Samsung panels are generally good enough for the lifetime of the phone that most consumers won't ever experience a dead panel. Can't speak for the other OEMs though.

Used market units with burn-ins have their owners justifying it. Burn in is harmless because it doesn't affect device performance. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Clowns.

In Pakistan we get kit phones refurbished or used from USA so I have used alot of Moto phones and Active series phones aswell. Proud user of S5 Active, S6 Active and S7 Active. What great phones with superb endurance and ruggedness.

I dropped my S6 Active in mud pile, took it out washed it and nothing happened, Samsung should consider building another rugged flagship series.

I still remember my Galaxy S3. I always carried a freshly charged battery around with me and if the battery ran low it was just a case of remove back cover, remove battery, insert freshly charged battery, replace cover, and restart. 100% power in around a minute. The phone also had a notification light on the top right corner of the screen that you could program such as red for missed calls and green for missed calls etc.

Always wanted one of those phones. I ended up just putting on a strong case on the vanilla version. I live in the state but didn't have ATT. During those years I had T-Mobile.
