Anonymous, 16 Apr 2024Sony Xperia :)Yes, I'm already considering one...
The only challenges are:- no availability in my country, and its pretty expensive too so I'm saving up.

Sony should launch it. Much better than these Samsung Ultras and iPhones and all for around the same cash... I'm hoping the scene changes a few years down the line.
One more manufacturer mysteriously missing from India is Asus... And it exists, but its products are missing from market... One can only wonder why & how?!

Audiophiles will be glad to know that the new chip can deliver 24-bit 96 kHz lossless music over Bluetooth.... (let me complete)

...because Bluetooth audio has been the favourite standard of audiopiles, since the 1970's, right?

And high quality wired audio comes using NOT the 3.5mm jack... but a rare USB DAC adaptor that is already missing from product range of various mobile phone brands. Samsung stopped selling one, Mi stopped, oneplus stopped selling a quality model, its a matter of time...

You can't talk handsfree out of the box, a facility which was available in the dumb phones of 1990's as well.

The mobile music scene is DEAD! Please don't talk as if its alive...
What should I get in place of my LG G8x, tell me? Some fat gaming phone? For good audio?

Stop complaining and move on... moreThat's not really true, I have the Buds2 Pro which are supposed to have lossless, hi-fi sound and use them with Tidal Hi-Fi subscription and I can definitely say they don't sound nowhere near as good as a wired USB-C headset from Samsung which costs about €15.

I have the Note20 Ultra Exynos so you know I'm more than ready to upgrade to the S24U at this point :D. Reading all this gives me hope that I will finally have a smooth gaming experience without frying off my hands and raging because of lag.

The average smartphone owner/ gamer/ music listener who wants a proper experience will buy quality bluetooth headsets/earphones and will be happy with what they got.

If you are that into audio quality you would be some kind of professional that needs and has a proper set up or equipment anyway, and you wouldn't be whining about smartphone bluetooth audio quality.

8gen2, I praise. So efficient with battery, even small size phone like s23. And still smooth and fast. i don't game either. Hope to keep it for some years. 8gen3 ok but can't justify price increase imo.

Only apple safari I found faster, but I don't want apple.even battery is ok on Apple now.

QC cheated on us increasing 8gen3 price at 4nm. No way

[deleted post]That makes even less sense that QC increase price for 8GEn3 made on relatively old 4nm.

Less yeild=more expensive and less mass produced, I understand that easily. but I hardly see where that would be a worse ( slower or more drainer) proc for the user in the end. 3nm is more power efficient by design, and I read articles about events in Japan for foundries, their was consensus from experts about that fact : tsmc 3nm=more power efficient, and Samsung is catching up over TSMC for 3nm.

To me GAA looks so promising, compared to 4nm, I can't think a sec it would be worse.

Maybe you are expert idk, what I still think right now is, 3nm tsmc is already better , and look lot more promising than ending 4nm. Even their first revision is not their best.

Not afraid of tweaking, rooting, unbloating, taking on risky ADB commands, reading cumbersome whitepapers and all that kind of stuff.
I'm software and electronic engineer, for too many years. I know not everyone is willing or has ability to do that.
My current check list is only about battery life. Processors are more than enough capable for everyone, if you don't game. That useless AI gadget b.s. battery drainer is just marketing tricky and lazyness, lack of risky innovations from the Gafams. We hit the Moore's law already, remember.
no need trust me, try by yourself.

What I say is, using 4nm for 8gen3 is disappointing. I'm not Jeff Bezos, but it's a pass for me. Wait 3nm for next QC, or Samsung 3nm if they compete seriously for cheaper. I say that again and again like a parrot haha. QC is a miss this year, they put on their windows arm this year, and they are asking way too much for their 8gen3 based on a second choice 4nm.

3nm still has great improvements over 4nm.

                                  That's my point, 8gen3 on 4nm, disappointing.

22nm Intel was absolutely fantastic, anyway why anyone would want that today ? Same for me between 3nm and 4nm. Especially considering how tsmc is ahead, and they are both from tsmc.

Anyway I read Samsung is not bad in the 3nm race. Wait and see... It's good for competition.
