12 November 2023
We wave goodbye to the old Endurance test and revisit some of the best (and some of the worst) phones that we have ever tested.

Hi gsmarena
Can you please include the "Endurance Rating" in addition, because I think that is very realistic score for most of the people, excepting gamers.
The endurance rating denotes how long the battery charge will last you if you use the device for an hour of telephony, web browsing, and video playback daily.

i would like to consider myself that power armor 13, only cons is their after sales service is nonexistent
if i want like to repair the device if something goes wrong, then there will be few difficulties to fix.

Everyone is talking about standby tests...Am i the only one who's never seen such a test on GSMarena?

I agree that Standby is important, you definitely want a phone that isn't draining a lot when not using it. Some phones are the absolute worst on idle, and it is usually a chipset thing and not related to software. They require tweaking to be in an acceptable state. It is unreliable and off-putting.

Still, the revamp is a great step forward, since it is more alike to actual onscreen usage of the phone.

Should we just disregard the standby testing they did in their reviews for the past 12 years then?

Still just as archaic without mobile data browsing. You are testing MOBILE phones, not home PCs.

Reading this from a Power Armor 13. Having an ability to not charge phone for a week is a great feeling of safety, which I hadn't felt in 10 years. Been using the phone for over 2 years and baterry still holds like new.

                    The change is welcome though.

                      End of an era

I can map the past decade of my life to GSMArena battery test results

I hope that you will at least mention standby performance in the review narrative, since it appears you won't include it in the numerical rating.
