Android is probably doing the same Windows-like behavior where it scours your storage for some reason (probably to sell your data unfortunately), making your system less responsive for a period of time, but the effect is much more noticable on crappy hardware.

That's good that the G99 can handle day to day tasks with ease. This also seems to indicate that even budget phones these days have good enough chipsets to do basic tasks without breaking a sweat.

        They do, only the Note 30 Pro can stutter sometimes, but mostly when it's battery is around 25% or below.

          But you left out the most important part. Does it run smoothly day to day? My previous Moto E (2020) (SD632) lagged and stuttered frequently, especially immediately after enabling Internet. My current Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) (SD695) is mostly smooth, although it does occasionally stutter.

            Well, I do have some Infinix phones, a Note 30 Pro (Helio G99), which is my secondary phone. The rest are 2 Infinix Zero Ultra and a Zero 30, one of which I daily drive when I feel like it, instead of my actual main, the vivo X Note. These are obviously much higher-end phones, even the Note 30 Pro, than this Smart 8, but they don't have ads, so I think you could turn them off on even lower-end phones, if they have any. As for the Dynamic Island, which Infinix calls Magic Ring, I'd say is actually useful, it doesn't do much, but that's okay, shows when the phone is low on battery, which I prefer over a low battery notification, it shows the type of charging it's doing when I plug it in, and has a nice face unlock animation. Not that I use face unlock, but I tried it just for the sake of it.

              My big concern with this phone is how these low specs handle Infinix's bloated XOS with ads and the gimmicky Apple-copying dynamic island. That would probably make it slower than the Moto E.

                Coast, 09 Nov 2023Why get this, just buy 2 or 3 kaiOS phones instead for $105KaiOS is feature-poor and dying. Phones with KaiOS have 4-8GB storage. As bad as this phone is, it's so much better than phones with KaiOS.
