bexiu, 29 Nov 2023They keep recycling 3 yrs old chip oh godYou know what happened in 2020 and why they had to start from zero. They could already be the first.

Do you have something more smart to say?

OpposedScroll75, 29 Nov 2023Except it isn'tThat's right. In my previous comment I said it felt like a more advanced chipset. Of course I knew the tensor g2 is a flagship chipset and thus, it is suposed to perform that way, except it doesn't

bexiu, 29 Nov 2023They keep recycling 3 yrs old chip oh godAs a Huawei Mate 20 user, I can easily say that I don't mind if Huawei does this. The Mate 20's Kirin 980 SoC is still plenty powerful in 2023 while running EMUI 12.

Aparently it will be the Kirin 830.
                  What might be the differences?
                  Well:
                  - There are 8 reported cores. Kirin 9000S has 12. The reason is Hyper Thread.
                  - Performance CPU is clocked at 2.5 Ghz. The Kirin 9000S goes with 2.65 GHz.
                  - The Multi core performance in the 9000S is 4152.
                  The one shown is 3790-ish.
It might imply that Hyper thread is disabled.

Also, since Huawei might try to recover market they won't use another design for the Kirin 720, so yeah. The 3 chips might be from the same design, being the best the Kirin 9000S, the 2nd best the 830 and the last ones the Kirin 720 with lesser clock speed. That is at least for now to save cost. And in the process they can bring up the clock speed of the 720 to call it 725 or something like that to make it last longer.

                    Hackbox, 28 Nov 2023poor guy. still in 7nm.695 , 778G, 782G. Most midrange are 6nm.

It's the same thing with most Android users. Which kinda sucks as most that get sold now are camera focused phones. With functions that can still be serviced by older ones. Smh.

They're being used for TikTok and Snapchat and whatever. The Apple A12/A13 can handle all that just fine. Apple consumers aren't bad people, I just dislike it when people don't use the max capability of their device.
