it's a pity, cause the device itself is not bad at all! Read reviews on the hardware, they're pretty good! Loved the package of a 4.3" 720p display with a snapdragon 400 soc. It's facebook home that failed, not htc! I would have bought it, only using the standard launcher...

So that confirm my theory about FB: The FB users are not loyal to the brand, they won't buy products nor pay anything that FB offers.
So FB totally failed in marketing, they offer a product that nobody wants, the FB users already are using smartphones.

FB lacks the same users base of Google, Apple and Microsoft. Those companies build their base and fans for many years using tactics that somehow made a identity to their fans. FB don't have that loyal base.

FB for now is a souless company, no identity, no fans... Only people going through the FB service without any knowledge about FB wants from their users and they don't care.

That't why FB phone failed, there is no FB fans, only people using the FB web page and the mobile app, just like the past users of My Space.

One more black mark on them, they cannot go on like this. They need to get rid of getting into this kind of stupid ideas and concentrate on how to get the HTC One on to the top.

Well, that's what you get when you ooverestimates Facebook and made phones for it. I believe that nobody wants to take the job for making this failure phone but, HTC just can't wait to show the world how big of a failure that one phone company can be.

HTC, you are a much loved company but you keep getting it so wrong! Suggest you hire a marketing strategist and put in place a proper road map! The HTC One launch and lack of availability was farcical and now this! Sort it!!

So does that not show u that most people do not want or need a facebook phone. Considering facebook is pretty integrated into every smartphone in some form or other. And with every device comnected to the internet also has access and with the addition of that facebook home feature.. this was a poorly concieved idea and of all people htc picked it up hoping it would help them. Bad mistake

No suprise there. IMHO it was a useless, unnecessary effort. Facebook should buy some share from HTC, if they sell of course. This way may be they both win. And i am sorry but i can't see many grown ups buying a "facebook" phone... There are many things to consider before buying a phone and being dedicated to Facebook is not one of them. Should make it a smaller amount to a more focused group. Teenagers that is. :)

It was unnecessary effort from the start. Everybody knows how to use FB and there is app for this purpose. I am glad they didn't put that junk on my HTC One.
