Of course you can do things without jailbreak and itunes...That doesnt make it common knowledge or the same ease and level of Android. You could even side lode apps after some time...though it still wasn't always a walk in the park. Neither is Jailbreaking.

Im not just some I bought an Android fanboy. Some people just realize the truth. I used to like apple...kinda a sheep you could say...But I quickly started observing for myself the reality of things. Crapple is terrible and full of scams...and IOS is no short of that legacy.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2013Well then here it is. It might be finally catching up. I ha... morewell known by whom??

Ever since the iphone introduced multitasking it has worked exactly the same - ie you can multitask ANY app provided that app has multitasking backgrounding enabled

Which, incidentally, is EXACTLY the same way Android impliments it.

If the app doesn't have it written into the coding then it won't multitask on android or ios...

People keep telling me what I can't do on my iphone & I do it daily.

I can't download from the web they say. Yet I download content all the time from the web.

I can't put content on my iphone without itunes they tell me. Yet I don't even have itunes loaded on my PC & my iphone is full of music, movies, books & docs that I can't put on there...

my iphone is not jailbroken either. I just have some technical nouse that Android users tell me they have an exclusivity on yet are unable to carry out these simple tasks on the iphone that they all ensure me they've tried & are not just spouting the same tired old crap again... and again.... and again...etc..

I also have an android phone because unlike the majority of posters on these boards - I'm not a child & because I like one piece of tech doesn't preclude me from owning another piece of tech....

I haven't tried it on the 5..I mean 6th Iphone yet, but other than that it sucks. It cannot run as many things at the same time, and it's well known for shutting of multi tasked apps in the background. Next?

Exactly, you nailed it. Always when android users says iPhone doesnt have real multitasking i ask give me even one example what i cant do. I have never got any answer which isnt possible to do. Usually these android users are very very quiet after that.

Its exactly myth, and i understand it. You cant understand how capable iOS multitasking is if you havent used it.

Anonymous, 27 May 2013the point here is multi tasking. just simply accept that yo... moreNo the point is that people for some unfathomable reason hate a particular phone so much that they don't just not buy it. They come onto forums & spout nonsense that they assume is fact because they heard some other rabid hater of the same phone spout the same tired old crap.

The iphone can multitask perfectly well. I can download from the web on it, whilst reading a book & listening to music. That's 3 tasks at once - I can also have sat nav running in the background, have documents uploading to dropbox & a host of other things all at the same time. That's a device doing several tasks at the same time or put another way - multitasking. (none of these apps I'm talking about are paused - they're working away in the background..).

I also have an S3 & there's nothing on the multitasking front that I do on there that I can't do on my iphone.

there are several flaws with the iphone closed system don't get me wrong but multitasking isn't one of them - it's a myth perpetuated by people who have never even tried it..

The things I miss from my S3 on my iphone are - the USB OTG functionality which I find extremely useful

& the file management. You can, contrary to popular belief, move files around to store in different places in iOS but the Android way is so much less hassle

The things I miss from my iphone on my S3 are the number & quality of apps - I don't care what people say - the apps I use are so much more polished on an iphone

That & the S3 phone functionality somehow feels apart from the phone to me - almost like a bolt on whereas on iOS it seems much more integrated.

On the whole - for day to day use I pick up my iphone & take it around with me as it's so much less hassle to use.

When I travel I ditch the iphone & take the S3 as the screen is great for media & web browsing & if I'm in a meeting I can get presentations & documents off people using a usb stick & my adapter cable so feels more like a polished solution for business..

Apple is a thief and troll!
Their OS is ANCIENT and PUNY!

And iOS is just another UNIX system, pardon me its a LOCKED DOWN UNIX-like system, claimed their own and patented it!

                  STOLEN and PATENTED, understand?

And it got more bug than you can identify. You'll not realize it coz you've been doctrined and brainwashed by Steve Jobs, thats what Apple doing: illusion of perfections and locked down ecosystem.

Its a launcher not full blown computer system.

Can Crapple become satellite (NASA use what? CRAPPLE or ANDROID)??

Can iPuny become server? Android can, just install Servers Ultimate apps and its good to go!

Just learn and compare objectively become you praise Crapple that obviously thief and stole many others idea and claiming theirs.

Same old BS!!! hah! Admittedly there are many functions which i would like to see in the Iphone however this petty 'which is best' argument is null and void in my opinion.. Noone can argue Android has more freedom UNLESS... you use apple computers and understand what you CAN actually do when you pair the Iphone with a Mac.... ok it would be nice to have a refreshed GUI on Iphone and a little more flexibility but in reality Samsung and Apple are BOTH doing what they do very well. I dont care whether you're 'trapped' by itunes... actually i prefer it... call me honest but i don't mind paying for music and apps... seems the majority of people who ditch apple for samsung in my experience are doing it because it allows them to help shaft the entertainment industry. I sold around 450 Iphones and roughly the same S3s in the last 12 months and both are superb... both have a good and bad day... please give it a rest... and also if everyone wants to move back to samsung... be my guest... might not have to wait so long at the genius bar to discuss my REAL issues whilst i'm currently found waiting for muppets who cant work basic stuff out!

I prefer freedom to move my files and do whatever I want with my expensive device while being cautious about what apps I use than using IOS. I have an SGS3 since it was first lunched and had no single issue with it. I have a ipad mini (unwanted gift) and from the very first minutes I was frustrated by it. Honestly it is an old OS and it's not helping the user at all. My advice to you.. get an android and you will never go back to IOS.

Anonymous, 28 May 2013With Android you have to deal with crashed widgets, crashed... moreLike I said. Lies and hush hush. Everyone claims Android crash lag this and IOS flawless that. It's all a load of bs. Thank you for proving my point.

ALL mobiles suffer failures. The amount of failure Iphones suffer and bugs in IOS upon release is the most unacceptable considering they only work on one phone a year.
Android you do not have to deal with such crashes and lags so terribly. With IOS they are far from non existent. And when the 4S came out there was not a device that crashed more.

IOS may not have the flexibility of Android OS, but in almost two years with my iphone 4s I've only had to restart the phone once.

Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses, just depends on what the user wants.
