If 599$ then that’s okay, more than that is no.

        TL;DR, it won't matter.

AI features will be the differentiator next year.

GN3 is a 2 year old sensor. It's a mediocre sensor to begin with and they will try and use it for a few more years.

these two S24/S24+ dont deserve the flagship title, unless they upgrade camera specs like the Xiaomi 14:

cameras: larger sensor & MP for tele and UW, improved main cam (larger sensor/pixel size) and assisting sensor/cams (like laser AF, TOF/LiDAR) --> Minus the 200MP and longer telephoto cam from the ultra is perfect cam setup for vanila/plus models.

Display also need improvements: LTPO 1-120Hz, high PWM, 10 bit color, brighter and larger screen res (more than FHD for the plus variant)

So s24 base is a downgrade? Exynos instead of SD. And the same chipset?

I was using a S8, upgraded to S23. Samsung no longer expects people to upgrade their phones every year, or every other year. These are still worth upgrading for many with older models. So no need to compare with S22, S21 etc.

Samsung may have realised that smartphone cameras have hit the ceiling and they don't want to chase the spec wars and instead concentrate on the savings? Although these savings don't seem to transferred over to the customer.

Look at Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo. They pack their phones with the latest hardware and in comparisons Samsung, Apple, and Google usually still top them. Although, in their defence I will say that modern photo comparisons are still stuck in 2010 with 1200x800 resolutions, so it's hard to do a proper comparison.

SO what theres nothing wrong with the sensor, its great. With a newer chip and software tweaks it will be better. Samsung need to work on software not hardware, the software is keeping it behind apple.

Lets see what samsung did to the new s24 the change the fram making flat edges and give us maybe new colours. New cpu so basically if u have s23 or even s22 u have to wait another year

As long as bananagate not follow since that was a feature not a flaw

Meh. Do people really care? As long as it gets the same camera software and features like the rest, I doubt people would care. Smartphone photography and videography nowadays depend a lot on the ISP and software. In fact, older sensor might be better as the software has been fully optimized for it vs a new sensor. Let's see what "AI" stuff Samsung can do.

That's perfectly normal for me as my phone is a midranger anyway and will be a huge upgrade.

Are we certain that the same sensor size VS the same camera?

God, as much as I want top tier hardware, I also want a small screen like S23 or S24. Gimme Ultra hardware with a small display and lighter weight thx.
