But the thing is, if am not wrong, they're at different price points. And at their respective price points, both the Lava Storm and the Moto G54 are great phones...

The Storm has some redeeming qualities tho, like a glass back, clean Android build (Moto seems to be slowly moving away from the "clean" part), usable main and ultrawide cameras, faster charging and their service centres and stuff...

In the end, it's up to which brand u trust with ur money. Would u go Moto or would u go Lava?

Those individual camera rings with the bold accented rings instantly reminded me of the Velvet 2 Pro.

Samsung however has an infinite amount of competition, and in my opinion the only advantage they have is their software, and even that's only because people got used to it, and most find it hard to get used to another Android skin, so they just don't switch from the brand no matter what. Samsung can and does make their devices as cheap as possible and they can price them as high as they want to, people will choose them anyways.

Samsung IS indeed very smart, and that's not the problem, but I don't support them in what they are doing, as I basically count them as legal scammers.

Samsung is not cheap but they are in the business of making profit, not making cheap phones with no revenue per unit like some challenging brands often do until they become a major brand themselves and become more expensive. You could also say that Apple is the most greedy of all when you look at the effective production cost and logistics versus what they charge for a new device (and all support that has to be paid on top). Brilliant marketing as millions of people are fooled by it and do pay hard earned cash for that. Samsung does the same but not entirely as it has a much larger portfolio then Apple meaning that their revenue per unit is lower meaning that earnings must be spread over a larger family of goods. As long as a design sells they are not going to change it completely until they notice that sales are slowing down and people start to make clear it's time to change. only then they will try out "new" (read "other") designs starting with either their top of the bill or midrange offerings, sometimes with their budget line of there is uncertainty about the chosen design.

"Some brands do the effort of trying to make something of their own and others just do lazy stuff."

Lazy is basically a synonym of Samsung at this point with all of their phones looking identical. Nothing but lazy, and greedy.

Lava (Iris) came out in 2013 with indeed a flat screen and frame but that one was a copy of the iPhone 4 which came out in 2010. When you put both besides one another then you can clearly see the resemblance including the front camera that is placed off center to the left just as, you guessed it, the iPhone 4. The successor, the Iris 405+, is inspired by another brand of those days, HTC.

These are all generi... moreA rectangular slab is always "generic" but you cannot deny that the camera rings are the current design language of Samsung, good or bad (that's a question of taste) so yes a Samsung design (or maybe an LG one as a commenter replied but I don't know which one). Some brands do the effort of trying to make something of their own and others just do lazy stuff. Making something of your own is of course very dangerous, if you do it wrong then it could mean the end of your business if you're not yet having loads of cash lying around in your drawer.

Man I'm really confused between buying this phone and Moto G54. G54 had stereo speakers and better performance, but their updates and services suck. What would y'all recommend?

Honestly very good specification for the price. If they continue like this then in future they will be able to gain a significant market share in India.

The real deal is 8gb 128gb ram rom.
Can be use for long term usage cuz 4gb is not enough. ( But still software update sucks)

These are all generic designs that any company/brand including Samsung and Lava can and such will purchase, so it's not a copy at all. The only difference being that Samsung doesn't make their phones cheaper after giving them generic designs, whereas Lava and these other smaller brands do.
