Upgrading OS makes no sense ... moreascend p1 was my first huawei phone and now i have ascend mate which i bought yesterday.......best phones everi have used lg 3d...nokia lumina which i still like ...samsung nexus.....but huawei is the best ...no bias
do not under estimate huawei...they are the largest telco in the world and the backbone of your network systems.....they produce great devices and cheap....problem is not huawei but the china image.
iphone is also made in china...don't foget that.

well i bought this phone and was blown away by the RAM 2gigs.Thats excellent with a 1.4 quad core.though internal memory comes to around 4.8 gigs(usable)but the phone is worth it.battery life is excellent.i am waiting for the official update for my phone to jellybean from ics.
so impressed wa I that i also purchased a low end ascned y300.another excellent phone in its price range and hardware specs.money is worth it

SyCo, 28 May 2013Not everyone has a bad experince, and besides not everythin... moreI did actually choose the P1 because it does not have stuff like TouchWiz or Sense on it. The standard Android is so much better than these device specific UIs, no wonder Samsung is now offering a "Google Expereince" Version of the S4. I have tried Emotion UI and if I ever install it on my P1, I'll make sure to configure it as much as possible as Android and also use another Launcher (the lack of an app drawer is simply silly...)

am using p1 snd i got to say it's a marvellous phone one problem though and i hope they will fix the issue of sound with new update.

Mr. F, 27 May 2013everyone want the better UI , but the better UI like TouchW... moreNot everyone has a bad experince, and besides not everything cheap is rubbish..... i held a Huawei Ascend p1 and was completely blow away. BUT its still no match to features of TouchWiz or SenceME. Having that said, that extra Ram usage is for the nifty extras added. Mt SGS4 has NO LAG at all. Stock os AOSP/AOKP android in its raw form is crap and misses the extras the phone has,and what is the point of having att the extra sensors and ir receptors if stock does not support it??

And sins i use B550 Android 4.1.2 everything works even better than before.
