justasmile, 29 Dec 2023Better wait for Rog Phone 8. That one will have much better... morewith the price of the ROG Phone 8, it's better to buy a Red Magic 9 Pro with 1 Nintendo Switch so you can play 2 different platform games for just the price of ROG.

Anonymous, 29 Dec 2023You can use for 6 if you want. Nothing keeps you from doi... moreJust because ancient Android version works, that shouldn't be an excuse for lazy or non existent software support. I've had iPhone and software support was just absolutely outstanding. Years long support, timely updates that are released for ALL iPhones at the same time and yearly major releases guaranteed across many generations with cool new features.

Usual iOS limitations and new generation phone specific features aside, I've never had such amazing experience with ANY Android phone. Currently on Samsung and while on paper, similar level of software quality, it's not actually quite up there and I have their absolute flagship, the S23 Ultra. Yes, they offer years long updates, but I had this dumb updates seeding thing already where people were saying update is out, but I wasn't getting it. Changelogs are also straight up worthless with Samsung. Generic descrioptions with link leading to generic webpage with no info. Even Apple does better than that. Also when I had issues, contacting Samsung is nearly impossible. I could contact Apple about an issue easily and they fixed a rather small bug in 1 month time which for a low priority bug is really good. At least I did get Android 14 really quickly, it wasn't really much time after Google released it so that part was impressive. But Samsung could do much better still.

ZTE has never been a good example of software support and while I really love their incredible under display selfie tech that is hands down best on the market for all of us who don't care about selfies much but appreciate full uninterrupted display, I just can't pick it because of poor software support. This Red Magic 9 Pro is insane phone and I'd love to have it just because of UD selfie cam and flat back without camera hump, but I'd just never consider it because of software. And that's just such a shame.

which will therefore result in worse game performance

Nothing keeps you from doing this.

I was using android 7.1 when current was 13.
        Zero issues.

When gsmarena reviews RedMagic 15 Pro, same statement about games unable to run beyond 90fps will still be there.
          Why does zte do it?

            Stay 8s pro is good

Better wait for Rog Phone 8. That one will have much better software and update support. Yeah, it's more expensive, but paying a cheaper price to use it for just up to 2 years compared to up to 4? Nah.

Or best, don't even get a gaming phone in the first place, because you're just limited by games made for mobile. Get an actual console handheld if you're seriously thinking about gaming.
