Would have preferred a dimensity over an exynos.

Dazza, 17 Jan 2024I bought the galaxy 23. Its my first samsung phone, I wo... more🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is your first high end phone which i guess was giving as a gift because how you say it. Your lame and probably poor in reality 😂😂😂

ShubhamDeshmukh, 16 Jan 2024Exactly the reasons I hate A54 it's the 77mm width and... moreSorry A5x should be "around 180g" not 170. Width is practically feasible at 73mm.

The closest practical example is :
      S21 FE - 〰️74.5mm , ✅️4500mAh , ✅️177g

      also, ignoring few flaws:
      M53 - ❌️77 mm , ✅️5000 mAh , ✅️176 g
      A51 - ✅️73.6 mm, 〰️4000 mAh, ✅️172 g
      S24 - ✅️70.6 mm , 〰️4000 mAh , ✅️168 g

So yes, there is scope for improvement to be smaller and lighter.
      A54 - ❌️76.7 mm , ✅️5000 mAh , ❌️202 g

Yes, the Exynos is the one that scores higher, these are just numbers, and unfortunatelly in real world usage they don't perform according to their scores. I've seen it, tried them myself, the Dimensity 1080 is better and more consistent.

"Lazy or stupid both, Darling Yext could have done the 3 minute research A34, A54 and posted FACTUALLY."

Again, who do you think you are calling me, or anyone here lazy and/or stupid? Why be so hostile about opinions on phones? What's wrong with you?

Oh, and whether you like it, or not, I've posted FACTUALLY, your beloved Exynos chipset is yet again worse than another chipset, this time one not from Qualcomm, but from Mediatek.

I bought the galaxy 23. Its my first samsung phone, I wouldn't of bought anything that sits below the s23 on samsungs roster of phones. Not interested in anything from a or any other series

The S23 FE should be the A74.

                      AhmedSLL, 16 Jan 2024So it's a rebranded A54 with a plastic back I guess.And probably a 6.6" screen and 8MP ultrawide. We'll have to wait and see.

Mats a54, 16 Jan 2024Those scores kinda suck.. my a54 with the same chip gets 28... moreThe D1080 scores nearly 2,600 so yeah, this is probably a dud and won't be the case when it goes global. Besides the E2200 in the S23 FE scores higher than the same chip in the S22. So it will get better.

Damn A34 had a good run with Dimensity 1080. Now A35 is going back to the hot, inconsistent, battery consuming 5nm Exynos chip again. Though with Exynos at least we can expect ISP upgrade, since A34 somehow had worse camera than A33.

Marcos Goncalves, 16 Jan 2024In which world D1080 is better than E1380? In benchmarks no... moreBased on GSMArena test D1080 could match E1380 in sustained performance with much less performance drops. E1380 only faster in the first 10 minutes, after 10 minutes D1080 surpasses E1380.

OpposedScroll75, 16 Jan 2024Well, this is rather unfortunate. Just when I thought that ... moreThat is exactly the way they're gonna play it. So far I only see the x6 pro as a worthy midranger, the rest is just overpriced rebranded old hardware.

But what i will absolutely not tolerate is bezels. There's no reason for them to get bigger. With the S22, Samsung showed us that they're very capable of small (and symmetrical) bezels so it's not that they can't, it's that they wanted to make the A54 look like it came straight out of 2019 to push people towards the flagships

In which world D1080 is better than E1380? In benchmarks no, in games no (see https://www.oficinadanet.com.br/smartphones/29159-melhores-smartphones-para-jogos)

Only in efficiency and thermal. But no in performance.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2024Bcos Samsung Foundry will be idling if not manufacturing Ex... moreProblem is two fold.
                                        1. Samsung Foundry is bit inefficient compared to TSMC. But then,
                                        2. the chipsets designed are too limited in capabilities and not future-proof.

Point 1. means chips will need more battery and will heat easily while extracting more performance, compared to rival chipmakers. Samsung should still, despite these issues, design chipsets with bit extra CPU & GPU cores, to offset the limitations of foundry. That way, it will have some PR advantage via good performance numbers in entry level phones. To compensate for heat, design a good cooling solution & vapour chambers / copper plates for entry level phones as well. We have already seen low-cost Chinese phones flaunting vapour chambers and copper plates, so not something impossible for Samsung.

Example: 1380 could have launched a year ago with A53 instead of A54, and that way it should have been included in low end phones by now.
                                        1380 > 4 x Cortex A78 @ 2.4GHz , 4 x Cortex A55 @ 2.0GHz, 5 x Mali G68, 5nm node
                                        1280 > 2 x Cortex A78 @ 2.4GHz , 6 x Cortex A55 @ 2.0GHz, 4 x Mali G68, 5nm node
