The phone itself costs as top tier Iphone, but you don't get worldwide warranty, no spare parts, bad software with proprietary parts so you get even worse expirience when trying using custom ROM. Absolutely disposable phone.

    OxygenOS doesn't have that much bloatware. i only see google apps, and some oxygenOS tools (calculator, clone phone, community apps, weather, and IR remote app) and it only has google playstore as an appstore. for me this phone is too clean especially this OOS 14 which uses google apps as default message, contact, phone dialer.

I know A16 is bounds ahead 8+G1 but still, come on. If their competitors have better tech, I expect Apple, the holy grail of smartphones, said by BILLIONS to have it as well.

        Biggest problem in Canada is no WiFi Calling and I think vlte support.

          Nikojas, 23 Jan 2024More expensive than I had hoped at £849 UK price. Will pass... moreIt was 800 pound on launch in UK 16/256. At Amazon deal was for 8 GB variant and like 7 month after release. 999 for 16/512gb is too much, 849 one is not worth it only 12/256.

            $899 for 12 with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is hard to ignore. At this point, the only reason to get the Samsung Galaxy S24 or S24+ is because of OneUI.

            I'm not sure about the 12R, though, especially when it shares the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC as the 11, and you can get the 11 with 256GB storage and better camera hardware in the secondhand market for the same price as a brand-new 12R with 128GB storage.

              Last good Oneplus model was 9 Pro with Oxygen OS. Since then, there is fall down, especially most tragic system from Oppo.

                1000€ for a chinese phone (that is not xiaomi) is not what most people want in europe. They rather pay 1300€ for 6 to 7 years of upgrades, no bloatware and local-service options that BBK cant offer.

                  Azu10157, 23 Jan 2024Genuine question: for phones with these crazy fast charging... moreat least in OnePlus 8 Pro there is smart charge manager (toggle in options - you can disable it) that learns your waking patterns and charges up to 80% immediately when you connect and then schedules charging last 20% so it finishes right before it expects you to disconnect the phone from the charger.

                  I would assume that newer phones would only expand on the functionality

Espe... moreI'm judging by the european pricing, it seems a tad high, eurobros always get cucked it seems, be it phones or computer parts. The indian pricing for this phone is "ok". I think this phone would've made more sense for 100 USD less, the display just ain't it for the price.

                      OnePlus will never change its design until it finds a model that its competitors haven't used yet, it's tired of looking at it

                        As about iPhone, idk why it's perceived as luxury because where I am, iPhones are not as common as Android but still they aren't considered luxury because even teens have iPhones. And with monthly payments, it's accessible to a lot of people. Idk the situation might be different in different places. For me, a thousand bucks isn't cheap, even the oneplus 12 is expensive I'd say, but I won't go as far as saying iPhone is luxury. It simply isn't. It never was

                          I see no shots of the OnePlus 12 in the Photo quality comparison database. I hope gsmarena doesn't give up on reporting that

                            Happy these are coming to the US at competitive prices. Not happy with the storage markups, though...

                            The Edge+ (2023) is a better buy than the 12R at $600.

                            The 12 is gonna crush the S24 at $800 though.

I normally charge it when I wake up because it takes ~30 mins to get a full charge. If I want to charge it during the day and can't be near it to unplug it when I think it has enough, I can dial *#899# to access the "aftersale page" as they call it. I can set a limit up to which the battery is allowed to charge (by default it is set to 70). I'd love an option to do that through the settings app. Doing it in the aftersale page means I can't exit it or the limit I set will be ignored and it will charge as it normally would

                                        Especially for a phone with 512GB memory. Google Pixel 8 Pro is the probably the cheapest comparable option, and it's still hundreds more. S23 Ultra, same deal. iPhone... lol, they're always expensive.

                                        In countries where there are tons of other chinese brands competing, there are more options. In North America, where the options are basically only Apple, Samsung, and Google, Oneplus is living up to its "flagship killer" roots.
