justasmile, 28 Jan 2024I see 'Hardware Hypervisor' downvoting all of you... moreI'm not sure if it's really the same person as that account, but one thing that I've already realised, is that he also has at least one other account. @Seran Mizorogi being that obvious one.

Bar phones are old, folds are dead, welcome VR, plenty of space for cameras, cheap, futuristic.
      Those prices are just... rofl

It isn't €2000 really. They all have about €400-700 discounts depending on the region, so in reality the price is closer to €1400

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2024Same for OnePlus 12, everyone hyping it to be the S24 Ultra... moreThe $799 price is in the US. US prices do not include sales tax but European prices do. Therefore $799 is not the price consumers actually pay in the US. You would need to add sales tax to get the actual price consumers would pay

zander, 26 Jan 2024I have had a foldable from Huawei, Samsung and now Xiaomi (... more". . . and companies like Samsung don't bother to make them better, even after 5 generations of foldable phones."

It's puzzling you've been through three foldables, but you don't know Samsung has always put an emphasis on durability and we've seen the results this generation. Not only is the Z5 the most durable Z, it is the most durable foldable we can track.

Other manufacturers need to put an emphasis on beating the Z's hardware or they wouldn't have a reason to exist. Samsung still controls this market and they have the most sales. No foldable will change that except for an ifold. Their foldables are doing better in China than their slabs so they don't need the best hardware. It can be better in some areas, but it doesn't need to be the best. Their focus is on durability because that is the number one concern consumers have about foldables.

As of now, they are the best in that area. It might not be enough for you, but saying Samsung can't be bothered is false. This isn't a hobby. Samsung is leveraging their future on these expandable phones.

zander, 26 Jan 2024I have had a foldable from Huawei, Samsung and now Xiaomi (... moreBro i feeling the same.
Whats worse companies like Samsung LG etc trying to make something litterary way ahead of foldable screens in other words screens of the future but yet the previous technology is not even here because like u said foldables are not ready for mass market consumtion and everyone who uses them will have soon or later simmilar experience.

But like i said. Foldable screens are still in its diapers and yet companies trying to research and develop something else from close or far future even the first tech is still have a long way to go.

You cant explain to anyone because those companies and uber rich people piour money into said projects and yet they arent here nor even close.

Lastly problem of current world is not how to feed poor but how to feed rich.
Can you imagine your self having as much money as the (number total sum of) national loan of USA. You could buy everything for that and because for that case you get bored from life because there will be nothing which will make you happy for more than just few miinutes and whats worse you still arent allowed to buy time, new life etc. Once your body and soul starts withering there will be nothing you can do with that.
Nobody nor the poorest one or richest one is allowed to take even a single penny to afterlife.

I am so happy for this world, when there's so big market for phones that costs 1500€-2000€.
It must be a very nice time to live in, when so many people are getting richer.
Even though I myself, that lives in Norway (one of the richest countries in the world), and earns Norwegian average salary, can't afford it...I am so glad that so many other people can.
                      Really...
I don't understand how it's possible, especially with prices of electricity, fuel and housing in last few years, but I am honestly happy for my fellow Europeans that doesn't have problems like I do.
After year with flagships, I have decided that it's not worth it it anymore...for the first time in at least 15 years, I am going to buy a middranger...
But even that one today costs more that I have pay for some flagships at the time (f.e. 1+8t, s21, S8, s7edge, S3, HTC one m8,Sony Xperia z and z3 compact, 808 pureview, 9210 communicator....)

Silly Honor, E 2000 price tag kills it, greedy move by Honor, considering no one has any idea whats their Android update security will be when Samsung offers 7 years Update....Pass!

If Honor wants to steal the foldable market they should have come in at max same price, same as full retail price of Samsung Fold5 (considering nobody pays the full price for ZF5, when there is up to 60% discount with combined offers and trade-ins anyways; I pick one up for less than E750 few months ago trading an old iphone8 lol).

Pity its just wasted opportunity for Honor launching at such ridiculous high price; people are just going to sit out and wait for the Z Fold 6 instead. The greed lost in lost opportunity to take market share from Samsung and V2 will be ignored when the Z fold 6 is only less than 6 months away due to the ridiculous price and no commitment to long term Android security updates :(

FatShady, 26 Jan 2024ewaste? this is far better than your darling's sammy foldWell what about the OnePlus Open then? XD

                            That's just overpriced 💀

                            Get a OnePlus Open instead

                              BRO THIS PRICE IS 💀💀💀

although this phone gets overprice, get OnePlus Open or previously Z Fold 4 for better price

Cpt.Power, 26 Jan 2024Thats why you have from honor free screen replacement. Co... moreI have had a foldable from Huawei, Samsung and now Xiaomi (in that order)

But my next phone will be a slab.

1 screen replacement is not enough, I am very careful with my tech but I have had the Huawei and Samsung screens go bad for no reasons.

This while the outer screen was scratch free, and the inner nearly zero, yet the screen broke because "that's the fate of a foldable screen"

Went Xiaomi for now but expect same thing, and having to replace such expensive phones in less than 2 years because of a defect is beyond ridiculous.

Because honestly, it's that I was able to import Xiaomi dirt cheap, even if they give you 2 or 3 free screen replacements, the tech is the real issue here.

And with how difficult it is to repair these things yourself, I can imagine why some call foldables ewaste.

I don't consider them ewaste, but it is true that foldable screens are not there yet at all, they are too fragile and companies like Samsung don't bother to make them better, even after 5 generations of foldable phones.
