    I suggest instead installing Ubuntu.

Am I the only one who doesn't like that cars are turning into smart TVs on wheels? You're stuck with a locked down spying system with less freedom than iOS.

Meanwhile, I'm excited to see what a Macan with 630hp is gonna drive like.

Cars should focus on the fun of driving over becoming another piece of surveillance tech.

there's a channel on youtube named Bjørn Nyland.
dude is bent on testing EV's range and battery degradation, he makes excel charts and stuff
watch it or not but EVs on their current are garbage.
the only thing i can say is that without early adopters things won't move forward probably.
so press F for these people spending their money on EVs and dealing with all these problems

And it does hold true at least in my country and the rest of Europe.

FT, 26 Jan 2024.. Wrong platform much?Android is a wise pick for any car company cause there are a lot more android phones in the market then there are other software and car brands want to sell there cars to masses.

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2024The same downloaded Windows installer can be used on about ... moreRestarting without user's approval to update? Can't install 16-bit software (DOS or Windows) on current systems? Can't upgrade relatively new machines to Windows 11? Current versions of core programs are the worst they've ever been? New UI is so awful that a significant number of users flock to ExplorerPatcher/Open-Shell/Start11? Lots of programs that can't be cleanly uninstalled? (Your Phone, Cortana, Edge, about a hundred different mild-to-moderate invasions of privacy that need Group Policy Editor or registry hacks to circumvent...)

It takes the "open with" dialog several seconds to load; Notepad has an annoying feature where it auto-names the file using the first sentence with punctuation removed; Calculator is borderline unusable as it changes the order of operations if you use standard vs scientific; Win+Left and Win+Right are no longer simple; Win+Up more than once no longer just leaves a window maximized; PowerToys replaces Ctrl+Space (for selecting specific multiple files) in Explorer by default

Also, backwards compatibility is a terrible goal as you retain features that were designed for a time when hardware sucked (magnetic/optical storage, dial-up modems, CRT monitors, LPT/COM ports, small memory, single-core processors) but the changes made to support modern programming are often worse than some of the original implementation.

The fact that modern software can be upgraded in near-realtime is a crutch. Old school programmers needed to get their deliverables right the first time. New tech? We'll just send out a patch to fix this later. Ship it now!

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2024The same downloaded Windows installer can be used on about ... moreThat's literally the only strength of Windows, and Linux can go on for even longer than that. Point is, update support and lifetime length with operating systems and devices is terrible not because it would cost too much to make it good, but because it would eat into sales. That's why only Windows and Linux have good support, because all of the other operating systems are either made or heavily customised by the device makers, while Windows isn't customisable in that way and Linux has lots of different distributions of itself. The more stuff is custom-tailored by the device maker, the more it tends to cause short update lifespans.

KondriX, 26 Jan 2024And what is wrong with Windows?Buggy as hell, laggy as hell, built upon 6 UI APIs that all have to be drawn on top of each other, zero consistency, poor UX, confusing and badly built filesystem, forced auto-updates, clunkiness that destroys any sense of a proper ecosystem whether it is a closed or open one.

Darth Caesium, 26 Jan 2024Tell that to WindowsThe same downloaded Windows installer can be used on about 3 billion different devices, by anyone able to click "next" a few times. Be it a laptop, tablet, desktop, server, till, ATM, POS, whatever... It will then keep itself fully updated for a decade or more, without any intervention from a manufacturer or OEM.

That's how any functional operating system should work in 2024. It's been that easy for decades. Longer than Android's or IOS' existence.

Show me how that works with your favourite operating system, please.
