So yesterday! The huge bezels is a total waste of display real estate; what is going on here? About 30% of display surface LOST to huge bezels! Go back to the drawing board Samsung.

Could have quoted me @ GSMArena since I shared all the info in the news 😬😁

Too bad it's not for me with the mic missing. Perhaps another iteration, in 2 years or so 😂

I bought the Redmi Watch 4 yesterday (1.97-inch screen), a pure marvel!

Narazumono, 31 Jan 2024A smart watch is not a normal watch so it doesn't need... moreWell to the extent that most smartwatches are oversized pillboxes on a string, then yes these are not watches.
And these can hardly even be called wearables as they really do not work well with a standard shirt or a jacket, there is a fact for you.... Really more like carryable....

There are a few wearable smartwatches in watch size though, e.g. the T8. But unfortunately only in the dumb end of the scale. But I would MUCH rather have a watch sized 7mm thin ø43mm device with limited capabilities that last six weeks on a charge, than a two watch thick monster that can last only a couple of days on a charge.....

But all this is really off topic as the Fit3 is a smartband not smartwatch.

And I obviously do not mind that some like these smart 'wristboxes' that need charging daily - to each their own- But I just want variety, and thus ALSO smart watches in watch size.

This is really the same discussion as all high end smartphones are oversize phablets that can not be fully operated with one hand. Fine that they are there, but please also make high end devices that can be used while walking the dog, carrying a suitcase, groceries or whatever in the other hand...

These bands are useless until they add..
                    *NFC payment
*Music control for popular app (Spotify, deezer, tidal, yt music..)
*GPS (optional) can be useful if lost in jungle :)

EskeRahn, 31 Jan 2024IMHO a square display makes sense in a smart band being ... moreA smart watch is not a normal watch so it doesn't need to look like one. That's like saying smart phones should look like old feature phones
But anyway, square watches give you more screen estate and makes it easier to read texts and view pages
Also the fact that square watches simply feel better on the wrist

jason, 31 Jan 2024I just wish they would make a smart watch with regular hand... moreGarmin, Fossil and Withings all have what you are describing in the product ranges (although Fossil's recent announcement they're exiting the smartwatch business means that number is falling to two).

HyperionBurn, 31 Jan 2024why do all cheap watches have no gps built in? is it that... moreTwo problems

                            1) A small body means a small antenna, and that could make it hard to get a good signal, so better take the GPS from the (relatively) huge smartphone

                            2) GPS is power hungry so the tiny battery in a tiny thing like a smartband would be swallowed in no time, bringing the stamina down from almost two weeks to ridiculous aPple Iwatch levels...

Sidonio Sousa, 31 Jan 2024Why can't they make the bezels symmetrical. That huge ... moreWell they could, but that would mean extending the top bezel unneeded.
They need space for sensors for ambient light (and perhaps proximity) somewhere.

Perhaps they'll offer a software setting, for having the top pixels black, to keep the symmetry?

But I'm quite sure some clever person will make some watch faces where the hands are centred to the body and not the display.

I just wish they would make a smart watch with regular hands, and a screen behind it. The screen can be off until notifications arrive, but it would be off until then. I still want to look like I have a normal watch on. Also, I don’t need that heart rate monitor underneath because it irritates my skin.
