Google Pixel Fold 2 might sport the Tensor G4 chipset and launch in October

Its predecessor got official in May last year.

Just the gist.

Google went to Samsung to help design the G3. The story is they Google ignored Samsung's advice.
If we can plaster the screen with adverts we can design our own SoC ( the answer Yes and No)
Things did not go well between Google and Samsung Google then decided to take design it in-house.

The potential was there with a novel 9 Core G3 to be a beast.
Samsung went even more novella? 10 Core Exynos 2400

The Google G3 was at best modest improvement over the 8 core G2
The Exynos 2400 phenomenal (I had consult Wikipedia to find out who manufactured the Exynos 2200?

The surreal point is the original Fold launched at $1800 the same the Galaxy Fold. (Why and How?)

Google clear desire is to launch the Pixel Fold at PREMIER flagship price just like Samsung higher than flagship ... again

The G3 has or had potential which is not realised by Google (ALL CORTICES ARE UNDER CLOCKED?)

The synthetic benchmarks for the Pixel Fold 2 are already already "pencilled" in by looking at the Pixel 8
I don't know the procedure Google has never submitted the Pixel Fold for review.

It makes sense to have latest SoC so 4 month wait is ESSENTIAL Google needs Soc designer's to step up.
The G3 is marginally better than the Exynos 2200 but still behind Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 your 2023 G3 is lagging behind the 2022 Qualcomm 8 Gen 2

but boot to a real linux OS and a fast usb still not an option

If it will come with useless specs like previous generation and price far greater than rest of the competition its already DOA.

The tensor chip lags behind. Even though it's more about the nueral learning part. But it's still way behind.

Casio, 07 Feb 2024Did they manage to sell 100 unit of Pixel fold? lolIt's been almost a year now, and I still have yet to see one in the wild (not counting carrier store demos).

I want them to ditch Tensor SoCs and go back to Snapdragon, or at least MediaTek.

Tensynos G4 will launch in October 2024, and SD Gen 4bans Dimensity 9400 will launch in November 2024, so it directly competes with them, not a chips from a year ago.

That would be the smart move, if they'd launch it again with the G3 and then after 3 months the pixel 9 comes with the g4, it would be the same thing as last year. Bringing the Pixel 9 series along with the Fold would be the logical move

GSMArena never reviewed the first Pixel Fold or the Pixel Tablet. Normally it was Ricky Villacrez who was in charge of reviewing Google products. Apparently they never mentioned anything about his departure from GSMArena.

Hoping the Pixel Fold 2 can retain the size of the first Pixel Fold with the same rounded, more comfortable sides but I doubt it. Will probably end up larger like the Oppo Find N3. Shrink the bezels and try to slash the price by about $600.

first they need to sort out heating issue with tensor along with battery backup then only the pixel lineup can actually reach its true potential.

Tensor better catch up with its competitors in performance, since Exynos (from Samsung, which make the Tensor chip) does improve albeit still behind Dimensity and Snapdragon slightly.
