I don't think that this was intended as a main phone but rather a second extra if your main one fails. It can be a good first phone for kids. The specs could be better yes but what do people expect for this price?

If you double the price or so: I got a Redmi Note 12 4g version, 8/256gb and it works so well, soo smooth and it never lags even with over ten apps on, especially on miui, I haven't updated to hyperOS. The display is gorgeous, like damn, 120hz, bright amoled fullhd+, it looks very slick and is thin, battery good and lasts a decent while. The only thing was the mono speaker but it isn't that bad, works well if you just want to watch some youtube vids or so. Everyone has speakers and headphones so that doesn't matter. It even has NFC, this global version I got, camera is decent etc. I couldn't be more happy with this phone, it really feels powerful and optimized despite being a cheaper phone. This phone made me a even bigger fan of Xiaomi than I already was, so they get a little free advertisement from me lol. No but seriously this phone is a great budget-phone, I didn't expect it to be this good.

a decent processor like helio g88 can keep up with 90hz well.

Caezar, 15 Feb 2024why xiaomi A3 only use G36 with HD display?🥲 when poco M5 ... morethat M5 crushes the garbage Redmi A3 with rebranded chipset from 6 years ago. this is just overglorified redmi A2 with huge camera bump and 90hz which is gonna be useless considering the weak gpu they put in. i doubt this would run at 25fps past the boot screen. because anything with helio P35 rebrands, running newer than android 10 would be haywire. realme c33, c51, itel s23, itel p55, or even better, the poco m5 you mentioned. is much better than this bottom of the barrel 'redmi'. although they are much pricier but these cheapo phones i mentioned are usable for long run in terms of chipset performance.

why xiaomi A3 only use G36 with HD display?🥲
when poco M5 already use G99 with FHD display and cost 96USD for 128/4 in Indonesia?🥹
I know poco M5 released 1 year ago, but it's really not outdated 🤔

would it really have cost xiaomi that much to replace the laggish g36 for a better g70 or even a snapdragon 680? that would have been a more reasonable upgrade over a meager 1 gb of ram

rizki1, 14 Feb 2024because Xiaomi doesn't want Unisoc on this cheap phone... morefor xiaomi, putting unisoc requires too much demand
i think realme, itel, tecno and infinix does better than xiaomi tbh

another helio p35 rebranded chip garbage.
i have no hopes for this crap, better off get realme note 50 or C51. 90hz does not give any justice with such garbage cpu performance that'll gonna run like 25fps with just an home screen. even rebranded helio p35 aka helio G3x series, struggle to run android 12.
this would be a good phone if it was 2018. waterdrop notch in 2024 is just instant no.

'The extra memory was clearly deemed enough by Xiaomi to transition the A3 to the full Android 14 instead of the Android 13 Go edition its predecessors ran.'

The predecessors could barely run the Go Editions lmao.

Cortex A53, eMMC, what's the point of 90Hz? Xiaomi is drunk.
